Self-deception
So I'm eating apple pop tarts for breakfast. My daughter gets all excited, and points to them and says loudly:
"Dat! Dat! Dat PEASE!"
So I give her a piece. After she eats it she says "More cookie!", pointing to the pop tart. I reply "This isn't a cookie, it's a pop tart."
She gets a confused look on her face, and points again and says "Dat COOKIE."
I must face facts. I eat cookies for breakfast.
