Nocturnal Wonderland
OK ****WARNING**** This is a hella long post b/c sooooo much fun stuff happened this past weekend, I dont want to leave anything out!
This was such a good weekend with the right amount of people, as well as the right people there :D
I started my vacation on Friday, Aug 27... not much happened the first half of my vacation... just chilled, cleaned house, stuff like that.
Then, Wednesday came around! I woke up all excited because that was the night we were leaving for Cali! I got the rental van (took about 3 hours to do that b/c they drove me out to the airport) and finally packed my bags. Couple last minute things were asked of me to be done from several people, and, unfortunately, they had to be pushed aside :/ BUT great start to the trip. Everyone; me, Gabe, Dana, Erin, Dale, and Co were all in the car and on the road by 8:00pm. Late start, but it was perfect.
I did most of the driving on the way there. Erin took over in the middle of Utah. We ended up with a flat about 2 hours away from Las Vegas. Slows things down when you can only go 60 on a donut! Dale amazed us all with his manly ability to quickly change a tire. His Damn Van must have taught him tons of "emergency" experience. We arrived in Vegas at 7am at Pounce's house. We took the car to the tire shop, then picked up breakfast and floated in her pool for the main part of the day. It felt so good to have showers and lay around before we had to drive again. We were all in the car and on the road again by 4pm. Ashley was added to our group this time. Pounce was planning on coming to meet us at the party on Saturday.
Four more hours, then we were in Los Angeles :D Carlos was extremely welcoming of our massive group invading his apartment... but there was room for everyone. We all had to quickly change clothes and get to the club Erin was spinning at... opening for RAW. The club was very empty :( but we had a good time. Carlos had told Co that the beach was very close. I think, since everyone in Cali drives everywhere, everything seems close, but i think it was about 3 miles away. Co and Dale go off on a walk to look for the beach... but headed the wrong way. They came back, and Co wanted to go out again... He did this without letting anyone know... and he thought Dale was with him! This all happened around 12:30am. When we were all ready to leave at 1:30am, we could not find Co! We drove around, looking down streets, alleys, and in fast food places. We even drove to the beach, but no lights were on and we could not see if he was there! WE LOST CO!
We all went back to the apartment, called the police station and the hospital. We had left a note on the club door with directions to Carlos' and change for him to call us. We all went to bed, planning on calling people he might have called back home. Dana and I had the only Cell phones that worked out there, so Co didn't have his with him and did not have our phone numbers memorized... big problem! We KNEW, that if he was okay... worst case scenario would be for him to find us at Nocturnal Wonderland in 2 days... but we hoped that would not be the case.
Friday morning, Ash, Dana, and I woke up early to find a bathing suit for Ash and get breakfast. We were driving through the apartment parking lot and Co was walking towards us! OMG!!! He had actually remembered the name of the street that Carlos lived on! Co had made it to the beach, played around in the waves and sand, then realised he needed to find us! He went to a hospital, but they didn't help him. He also went to the police station to report himself as lost LOL.. they just gave him donut holes :P Co found the club again and fell asleep against a tree... he didn't see our note on the door! Someone walked by him and told him he better move before he gets arrested and gave him some change! He finally remembered the name of the street that Carlos lives on and taxi'd there. Moral... always have the phone number of who you are staying with on you! His plan to find us was comb the beach the next day b/c we were going to be there, or find his own way to NW and find us there! We were so glad to see him!
We all got ready for the beach and it was so beautiful! I miss the beach! Waves and sand and everything. Everyone got a sunburn except for me. We had some yummy sushi that night, but stayed in so we would be rested for the par-tay!
It took us a long time to get ready for the party... how can you not expect that from 9 people needing to shower! LOL We left a little late, but got there at 5:15. The party started at 4pm. The place was huge! It felt like I was walking around 6 Flags or something! 3 buildings; one each for jungle, house, and main room. Also 6 tents set up with dj booths outside. There was a lake with some grass around it. Very nice to have grass to sit in at a party right next to a dj booth :D We ran into Dino, KC, and Tak and their girlfriends. We also saw Elrich and 2 of his friends! It was so great to see all of them! The people there were a large variety... not like colorado where it is only kandi or not... there were old, young (took a pic of a 5 year old trying to spin poi!), gravers, junglists, kandi, hoochi mammas, and regular people there. The only kinda bad thing about a massive like this was if 2 djs you really want to see were on at the same time. But, I finally got to go to a West Coast Massive! The pills we found were excellent; not speedy like these ones here have been in the past 3 years. I did not get sick once, and was very mellow. I also was not running around in all directions! YAY! Wonderful evening. I ended it seeing Dieselboy, then Andy C! I also got a poster from the party. We are all considering going again last year. I think the amount of people we had was just right. I would like to get a hotel room next to the party, tho... better than the hour drive home!
The drive back was not that bad. We all got to bed before 7am. We woke up at noon to shower and get back on the road! We left around 3:30, and with Dale driving like a bat out of hell, we were in Vegas by 7! We had dinner and saw a tiny bit of the strip... but traffic sucked. I would like to go back to vegas some time and check it out. We left for the final drive at 2am. Dale kept on driving his crazy speeds! I took over for about 2 hours when the sun was rising at 6am (which is the worst time for tired eyes to drive!) Erin took over from there and the ride was so great. None of the drives screwed up our sleep schedule! Everything was perfect timing :D I got home from dropping everyone off at 2pm.
It is great to be home, have a shower, and a bed to sleep in! I miss the beach. I am also not looking forward to work tomorrow. This had to be the best and least stressful vacation I have had in MANY years. I also have lots of new friends in Cali :D
