So I gave my two weeks' notice yesterday. Basically as soon as I walked in the door, my manager was RIGHT THERE so I tried to sneak by him, but alas, too late! He found me in like two seconds and started telling me how amazing I had been doing for the last couple of days, and how I was really impressing everyone, and went on for a couple minutes before finally stopping so that I could awkwardly go,
"Oh yeah, thanks... um... sorry... here."
They were really nice about it but I can't help but wonder if my manager is avoiding me now. I didn't see him all day. But at least they didn't let me go on the spot--in fact, I have a ton of hours next week, which I am both dreading and looking forward too in a kind of determined way. Sunday I am going to be at Sears for 10 hours, which is kind of like... okay I'm glad that there's overtime and all I guess.
Also, my :| customer of the day:
White elderly customer at work: "You're such a nice girl! How on earth do you work here with all these illegals?"
Me: "About as well as I do with the obnoxious white people."
I turned around and walked away before I could say anything else, but come on, jeez. Really? My parents keep telling me to write the Marin IJ and write a little letter to the editor about how rude white people are when they come in. I don't know how far that would fly, but it would be interesting...
