So I am sitting in the Marine Science Center right now. I live about a ten min walk away in a house built in 1850. The House is HUGE and has a rap around porch, and bug yard with lots of trees. It’s not on the water, but very near by. There is a broken down stable in the backyard where they use to keep horses for carriages. The room im staying in is huge, bigger then anything I have ever lived in and has its own bathroom. It formally belonged to the lady of the house, Mrs. Curtis. There is a buzzer in my room that rings the kitchen (it brought maids running at one point in its history, but now only makes a very annoying beep).
The house is old and has no internet connection, and I don’t get cell phone reception unless I'm sitting on the porch....so my communication with the outside world is limited.

Class starts soon (marine botany) so ill be quick. I LOVE it here. The place is beautiful. Right on the ocean, and has all kinds of cool paths to follow and rocks to climb. Yesterday I had my first class, Benthic Marine Ecology. We spent the first part of the day in the classroom talking, then after lunch we went out to the seashore to investigate. We walked around over the rocks asking questions about everything. We learned about the different research going on right now and looked at the different life and zonation along the shore. I love this hands on approach to learning....so much better then sitting in a lecture. Everyone here at the Science center seems really cool, and love what they are doing. umm...ok guess that has to be all for now. later!
