Feb 15, 2014 23:00

Woohoo! Double A side this time!

Hey! Say! JUMP's 12th single, AinoArika / 愛すればもっとハッピーライフ, was released on February 5th, 2014.

There are 4 versions of the single, with a total of 6 songs.
AinoArika
愛すればもっとハッピーライフ
桜、咲いた
OUR FUTURE
Oh! My  Jelly! ~僕らはOK~ (Hey! Say! 7)
スギルセツナ (Hey! Say! BEST)

First off, when I saw Hey! Say! 7's new song title, I simultaneously laughed and facepalmed. Why do they get the weird ones??? (ウタウタウ, I'm looking at you.)

I really like the songs this time. AinoArika has a really nice meaning to it. And it has really grown on me. Except for the rap at the end, but that's only because I can't sing it at all :( [Yama-chan~ I know how you feel T__T Though it's worse for you since you're actually a singer haha]

The PV for this is really sophisticated. I think that's the word I'm looking for. The orchestra was a great touch. At the same time, my mind boggled at it. I can't believe it was a live orchestra... And the backup singers were a bit weird since we can't actually see them (lip) singing.

Though for some reason, I think I missed all the Yabu solo parts. Or else he really didn't show up that much in the solo parts... And obviously, the main focus was on Hikaru and Inoo-kun, for their drama and all.

愛すればもっとハッピーライフ is such  a different feel. Very playful and bright. Especially the PV. There wasn't a dance for it, so that made me sad :(

But the playful house life scenes were nice. The bent, rotating table scene was cool, though slightly disorienting because it defies physics. XD

桜、咲いた is a really nice song with a nice feel to it. But is it weird that I picture a girl twirling an umbrella on a sunny day? Haha X3 Swaying her hips to the music as she walks in the park.

OUR FUTURE has a great call and response at the beginning :) This is the kind of song you may find yourself humming at random times.

Oh! My Jelly! ~僕らはOK~ is great, cheerful song. Despite my giggles at the title, the song itself is a great listen. It really does fit the image of Hey! Say! 7 though. As youthful, bright, and silly boys. :D Especially Yuto hahaha. I can definitely picture him dancing and playing around while recording this.

スギルセツナ is a very mature sounding song. It really emphasizes that Hey! Say! BEST is suppose to be the older ones of the group :) I love this song. It's got a great beat, and the flow is something I can learn to sing along to.

One last thought.

In a few of the TV performances for AinoArika, Inoo-chan had blond hair. It was really disturbing. Like with Hikaru, he doesn't look good with it. Most likely, it's because that shade of gold blonde really doesn't fit well with many Japanese features :(

johnny's, new single, pv, hey say jump, jpop
