Young Knives - my favourite set at Godiva Festival this year. I knew more of their songs than I thought I did. (from not paying attention to band names when listening to the radio) … there was a great air of sarcasm about the freeeeness of the whole thing. and I think we can claim them as a local band - east midlands isn’t too far away

Love My Name by Young Knives

The Sunshine Underground - ‘dancing’ (not that I can do that) while drawing this one. difficult to stand still in the situation. (reminds me of a friend dancing to some kind of european dubstep? while admiring a Brecht Evens comic in Angouleme)

hahaa it was very confusing the person announcing the band must have gotten muddled … or I’m very bad at distinguishing hip hop from bog standard indie pop rock. This is The Tones but the announcer was hoping to see The Tones. (seriously. why are we doing that band naming thing again were we don’t google it first?) (I’d moved closer in the hope of seeing some hip hop on the main stage.)

More local music … sang a song about being on the dole … The Shackletons (took 3 myspaces of bands with the same name to find this one. again?! D:< ) but I think I missed seeing a good ska band in the tent. :(

Umm a band I caught when I arrived yesterday. Breadchasers - this band were great :) a Punk /Reggae/Ska band from Nottingham

err, thats all for drawings. I also saw Musical Youth (too dehydrated to draw), Jon Frateli (too rowdy to draw - lol, I have seen the Fratelis before, so this was predicted and accounted for) and Athlete (too sleepy to draw) and some singers on ‘mirco-acoustic’ stages.

waited all evening to hear a cheesy rock anthem and then passive smoking combined with hayfever lead to asthma attacks at stupid o’clock in the morning … 8D … no more festival this weekend please. I am allergic.

the shackletons, brecht evens, the tones, athelete, festival, location drawings, sketches, jon frateli, musical youth, godiva festival, music, young knives, the sunshine underground, the fratelis, breadchasers, angouleme
