voice actors should be seen and not heard

I was a little disappointed when I put in my final Avatar DVD and saw that the last two commentaries were for episodes 3.16 and 3.17. To be clear: I was delighted that 3.17 had commentary, because I love that episode like I gave birth to it, but I was surprised that the creators didn't choose to comment on any part of the two-hour finale (episodes ( Read more... )

You already got and watched the entire thing? That was certainly fast work.

Do you want to arrange a time for a viewing party?

These were Netflix DVDs. I moved them back to the top of my queue when I fell in love with Avatar via TiVo. I didn't realize at the time that Nicktoons was going to show 2-3 episodes every single day (I love you, Nicktoons), but even if I had, renting the DVDs meant that I would be able to see the show from the beginning in proper order.

Which doesn't mean we can't have a viewing party. Until I do buy the DVDs*, I'm keeping the episodes on my TiVo. If you wanted to come to my apartment, we could watch those.

* I'm actually buying the DVD sets in reverse order, due to budget constraints. Come here to watch seasons 1 and 2, then (if w_10_00 comes out in March) we can watch the third season from your comfy couch.

That sounds fine with me. When is a good time for you to have me over?

And do you want me to bring anything?

YES! How about this Saturday (tomorrow!) or next Sunday (2/15)? As for bringing anything...either bring Amparo-snacks or let me know what you'd like to nibble and sip so I can make sure I have it on hand?

Tomorrow is good. Do you have a time preference?

Any time after 9am works for me. Can you stay for at least 6 hours? That's how long it will take to watch through [name of episode w_10_00 will want you to watch]. Of course, you're more than welcome to stay longer. I'm just hoping we'll get to that episode.

So, wondering what episode you might be thinking of, I went to check out an episode list. From there, a mere three seconds before I go, "Oh, THAT episode. I LOVE that episode!" Also, I want to watch that episode again. Except that I want to watch it on DVD. Stupid budget. Wouldn't it be awesome if Best Buy had Avatar box sets for 1/2 price next week?

I just got a mail delivery notice that I have a package at the post office (from "online book store") that I can pick up starting at 9am. I figure I can be there to pick up the box (crossing my fingers that it's my manga order) when the post office opens, then head over to your place, which means I'll probably arrive somewhere around 10, depending on trains.

After that, I can stay however long it takes.

Edit: I just remembered I'm scheduled to play Warcraft at 6pm. Maybe I should bring my laptop...

Oh no! I'm missing the last four episodes of the first season. I didn't think we were going to make it through a 9-hour marathon of the entire first season, but if you wanted to, then we would have to reschedule for next weekend.
