Yep, that's right. My job affords me the ability to 'work from home' when the need arises. Like today, as I sit waiting for the plumber to arrive. At midnight last night our tenants called to say they had no heat. This on the coldest night NYC has experienced all season. As T. is gone, everything has fallen onto my shoulders. I had already been asleep for a bit, but got up, and saw the furnace had low water...fun. A quick call to my Dad confirmed that indeed, this was bad. So I called the plumber and made an appointment for 9:00am.
It is now 12:30pm and no sign, although I've been assured he is on his way. That's fine - I can do my work here. Another annoyance came, however, when I went to take my shower and halfway through the drain somehow clogged...but it was odd because it wasn't draining slow. I highly suspect something not so good going on. I tried to snake it, but no luck - so I guess this is what plumbers are for. Hopefully he can fix all my woes when he gets here!
No other real news - I've been keeping very busy without T. around. I actually am seeing friends I never seem to be able to on weekends because T. and I always are too busy together. So it's nice so far, although I do miss him (especially on days like this)! Thankfully we can IM despite the time difference.
Today I am thankful for kind and understanding tenants...hopefully this can be fixed soon!
