Not a shojo manga today, but a shojo manga magazine. I have talked about
HanaLala before, and today I am going to review the August and September editions.
HanaLala, August 2007
HanaLala, September 2007
HanaLala August 2007
The August edition features Haruhi and Kyoya of Ouran Host Club in the front cover. Despite the majestic and grandeur feeling it wants to deliver, I couldn't help but laugh at Kyoya's expression.
Natural Pearl Pink - Tamako is faced with yet another script change by the devil Iwao. Now she has to kiss Raizo! Apprehensive about her first-kiss-not-with-Kanji prospect, will the scene be a successfully one?
Features: Double chapter of Fruits Basket, a full-colour article on Takarazuka, and Bunkasai at Atmajaya.
HanaLala September 2007
The white background radiates the pure ambience from this month's cover of La Corda d'Oro.
Roadside Angel - We finally saw some action and new characters last month. And in this edition, The Ark family and the family that owns The Book finally cross paths in the competition.-Though the problems and plots are sometimes over-simplified, this one has potential. I would love to know the continuation of this one.
Skip Beat! - Kyoko is diving into her role as Mio in Tsukigomori. She calculates every single thing about the character and when she emerges as a thriving new Mio, even director Ogata is moved beyond his uncertainty and reinvents the wheel by renaming the project to Dark Moon.-The fangirl in me jumped out when I read the last chapter (49). Someone should warn me upfront that this title is an intangible addicting substance. Can't wait for next month's edition.
Features: Double chapter of Skip Beat!, Okonomiyaki a la Osaka and Hiroshima, Vending Machine for Charity, and Japan Evolution event coverage.
The magazine currently features these titles (the one in front is their Indonesian title, though not necessarily in Indonesian)

+ 12 good titles in one. Who can resist the urge to buy it?
- Only minor editing/censoring that spoils the fun or reading sometimes.
