most squiers suck at staying in tune anyway. I have one..and its on my wall with 3 strings, and i think its the best in tune its ever been.
Depends on if it has a floating bridge or not..like..if the bridge has a gap between it and the body. If so, its a bitch to tune, cuz one string changing changes all the others. I have an ibanez like that, but it pays off cuz the whammy bar can do ridiculous things.
But its stupid when strats do that...tell your friend to take a spring off the back if his bridge doesnt touch the body
whammy bars are fun. Just not on strats..like my ibanez has a locking nut so the string is like cut off right at the top, and moving the tuning knobs doesnt do anything, so it can't go out of tune :-D
