These days, my weeks feel pretty long. My normal schedule is wake up around 7:30-8:30 and putter around the apartment for a bit, trying to practice and get other stuff done before I go to work for 10. At 3, I get off from the Spoke, and go home to do a few more things before making dinner around 4 and being at the Grand Theatre by just after 5. Around 9, I arrive home from the Grand, hopefully having made a sale or two. I then try to summon up the energy to even more stuff, and usually fail due to lack of motivation by that point or being asked to hang out with people. On Fridays, I get a break from the Grand, on Saturdays, I have a break from the Spoke, and Sundays are open.
This week was a little longer for a couple of reasons. First, starting off your Monday at work by saying goodbye to your girlfriend for the week sucks. There is no doubt about it. Second, due to a promo going on between the Spoke and the USC Bookstore, my BBQ shifts tended to last up to half an hour longer...not a long time, granted, but when you only have two hours to do 30 minutes of practising, make and eat dinner before getting out the door again, it can get on your nerves. Third, I went for three days at the Grand without making a sale. It happens, but it sucks. Fourth, for whatever reason this week, my playing suffered a bit of a setback a couple of times in a row leading to me having a minor freakout on Thursday morning, and needing to call Sarah to calm me down. And speaking of Sarah, she was supposed to be down on Friday but, through no fault of her own, she got sick late this week, and can't really drive until the antibiotics she got kick in...which will be around 10 tonight. So, between that and my working 10-4 tomorrow, our weekend fun is pushed back a good 22 hours or so. I realize full well this isn't the end of the world, and that we'll still have two or three days together, but still. It wasn't really the way I would have wanted to kick off my weekend.
On the brighter side, after venting my spleen on Mariokart and DBZ:BT3, I went from being pissed off at fate for being a pain in the ass to actually being pumped up enough to play the tuba some. Still wasn't amazing, but it was an improvement on the last couple sessions. Also, there is still fun stuff on Saturday night to look forward to, Sunfest on Sunday, and I'll get to see Tyler this weekend as well.
Now if I can just fast forward to 4:00 tomorrow...
