C'est Non Un Blog Is Dead, Long Live C'est Non Un Blog!
I'm sad to inform you that this will be the very last post to ever grace this blog...
...but good news everyone! C'est Non Un Blog isn't disappearing, it's just evolving! You can find the new and improved C'est Non Un Blog at its new home over at cestnonunblog.com!
I know it sucks changing all of your Bookmarks and disrupting the status quo by making you have to remember to go somewhere new, so to make it up to you I've created not one, but TWO new mixtapes for you to enjoy! That's right, I'm bribing yout to check out the new site! You can download the first mixtape, Can You Take The Heat???, by clicking right here and going to the new site. The second mixtape will be available for download only a week later, so keep an eye out!
Why the change? Well, probably the most common complaint I've gotten about this blog is that it's not particularly mobile friendly. While LiveJournal has been a good home for me over the past ten years the site itself hasn't evolved at all, with most of its features basically the same now as it was when I started this blog. Plus, part of the reason why I kept it here for so long was so I could keep up with friends on my blog roll and be part of the LiveJournal community, but as it seems that almost everyone I'm following has either shut down their blog or stopped posting altogether it doesn't really make sense to keep hanging around on a sinking ship. My recent 10 year anniversary lit a fire under my butt to try and do more with this blog and to make it as great as I possibly can, hence I made the decision that the very best thing I could do for it was to move it to a better host site.
So other than a more mobile friendly site, what's new with the new C'est Non Un Blog? Well, for starters I bought my own domain name so you no longer have to remember if the site is on LiveJournal or WordPress or Blogger or anything else for that matter. Just type in cestnonunblog.com, hit Enter and that's it, you're there! Social media in all its forms is easier to use on the new site. It's easier than ever to Like or Share a post, there's a link right there to Like the Facebook page, and if you have your own WordPress account it's extremely easy to subscribe to the blog. There's also a search bar so you can easily find a past post without having to tear your hair out first.
Plus I have plans to branch out the scope of the blog out from the usual music video/mixtape formula I've gone by the past few years. After making the blog more mobile friendly the second biggest complaint I've gotten is that people wanted to see more reviews and personal posts, so expect to see more of that on the new and improved C'est Non Un Blog (you know, as long as I don't get lazy and slack off, as is the norm).
Note: I was able to import every post from LiveJournal over to WordPress so you can click on any of the tags and go back and read any post of C'est Non Un Blog from the past ten years without having to go back to the old site, but for some reason none of the embedded videos made the jump. I went back and fixed every post from 2013 but most everything before that is still video-less. As time goes by I'm going to try and go back and fix as many old posts as I can, especially those with tags that link to new posts, but I'll never be able to fix them all so the LiveJournal site will stay up for anyone who wants to go digging through the site's past. If you think I should fix any post on the new site that I haven't fixed yet, or if you find any broken links, just send me a private message and I'll get right on that.
So, I guess that's it. It's sad to say goodbye to such and old friend, but I'm excited for what the future holds with the new website. Ten years is a long time for one person to keep a blog going, but hopefully you'll see C'est Non Un Blog keep going even better than before for at least another ten years.
