I probably should have posted this video last week before the Super Bowl when I wanted to (but was too lazy to) to provide a little context for Madonna's Super Bowl performance, but at least M.I.A.'s odd choice of flipping off the entire world gives me a second chance to post this video on the blog with some sort of relevance. I quite like Madonna's new single. I think it's really catchy and fun, and the video is very clever, if a little weird. I mean, how is it that M.I.A. has gotten in so much trouble for flipping the bird during the Super Bowl and yet I haven't heard of a single complaint against that completely random shot at the end of this video of Madonna chucking a baby off screen. Seriously, what's the deal with the baby chucking?
As much as I love this song and video it does bother me just a little bit over how much this video reminded me of Nicola Roberts' "Beat Of My Drum" video, from Madonna's hair and clothing choices to the eerily similar spelling out Love/Luv sing-song chorus's both songs use. Still, it's a great song and Madonna's never looked better.
