I'm going to have to record some of the clothing. I have talked with several people about this, and we are all convinced that it's secretly the eighties. Fannypacks are popular, and for the first time since fourth grade, I understand their utility.
I live in the countryside surrounding a city about the size of Birmingham. Someone from home recently asked if I have started dressing like a Manga character yet. My region doesn't seem to have so much of that influence. Many of the neighborhoods are very old, and it seems kind of traditional. With amazing technology, but culturally traditional. The first time that someone described my neighborhood as the countryside, I wasn't sure that they were correct, but I thought about it -- and if all of the rice fields surrounding my house were corn fields, well, then it would more than fit my idea of rural.
