She won the Olympics. She can do anything.

I don't know why I love this line so much, but I do. It's just...adorable. Like, YES, of COURSE. But the way it's written here just sounds so shy and unassuming and off-the-cuff. :)

I would never have thought that line to be particularly striking - but it's weird what grabs you in a story, isn't it? I know I've been particularly taken by very unassuming lines in stories before and it's always something odd that resonates.

So that's very cool. Because Yuna is superpowered. *g*

And it's so cool that you read it. I was telling leksa I didn't think anyone would read this story but it's got a nice little collection of comments. :)

and strangely spot-on with the details

leksa and I agonised over the details. There were a couple of re-writes while I tried to get the scenario as feasible as possible.

That said, I didn't know about that quote. But I did notice that there's a different between Yuna's media smile and when she looks genuinely happy.

This is so nice, thank you for writing it.

That you for reading it. And commenting!

Thank you for writing this! It's sweet and sad and amazing. And this fandom desperately needs more Mao/Yuna.

“We’ll never be this pretty again”
My heart, you broke it with this line.

I love the ending. How they both seem to realize their connection at the same time and it makes them happy and nervous at the same time.

Again, thank you for writing this <3

this fandom desperately needs more Mao/Yuna.

It SO does. But I have noticed that there are quite a few Mao/ Yuna shippers out there, even if they are not writing and reading fic. It's good to know a small bunch of us are feeling the love (I love them SO MUCH!)

My heart, you broke it with this line.

Johnny's all too premature cynicism was what attracted me to ice skating. In many ways, it's a sport of all too fleeting brilliance. Kind of tragic. I am attracted to beautiful tragedies.

Again, thank you for writing this

Thank you for reading it! And commenting. Much appreciated. :)

this is lovely! I've no idea who these women are (I mean, save the icon you're using and your skating fixation) but you know I love some women in sport and I love the lightness of your touch here, how nothing is overstated. and how sad and fun it is.

Also she feels them like they are burning is a gorgeous restatement of something that is said because it is true.

The gold (Yuna) and siler (Mao) medalists in the women's figure skating. They're born barely weeks apart, are the same height, and have come up side by side through the ranks of women's figure skating. And they LUUURRRVE each other. And when they first met they could only communicate in broken English (Yuna is Korean, Mao is Japanese) and I find that soooo adorable! (They both speak better English now - the result of training in Canada and the US respectively).

I thought I probably wouldn't get into women's figure skating because they're all so young and petite and I like my women a little taller and butch-er, but then I discovered Mao and her gorgeous, expressive face and her AMAZING costumes (there's a picture of them both here. Mao is wearing the awesome spider dress) and her long friendship/ rivalry with Yuna and there had to be shipping.

But it's so cool you read it. I'm quite chuffed. Thanks!

Steely. That's my girl, Yuna. And fierce.

Glad you liked it. :)
