Were you using "Alien Nerkmids" for the Alien vending machine??? Shit, hunny those things are worth bitchloads more than anything you'd get from the vending machine! If you aren't usgin Nerkmids, tell me what you're using (I never use the vending machine...)
Yes, keep as much stuff as you can! You know those items like "Air Mote" and "Earth Spell" that are worth a small fortune? I had quite a number of them when they were only worth a couple hundred NPs! As soon as the battledome opened they skyrocketed in price and since I was never much one for the battledome, I never used them! *smiles* Neopets also has a habit of retiring items - many that used to be popular! Once the item is retired, it shoots up in value and usually becomes so valuable that it's an "unbuyable"... Also, Neopets has a habit of making a way for common items to be recycled - i.e. the great climax of the Sand Bottles at the Cooking Pot! (the cooking pot is on Mystery Island.. you combine a few different items and if you get the right combos you get a new item that is made from the others.. about a month ago, Neopets decided to add those "bottle of red sand" items to the list of cooking pot recipies along with all the colors of sand because they were worthless items that people were selling for 1 or 2 nps.. the new cooking pot recipies for the bottles turned them into things like "heartshaped sand sculpture" and angular shaped sand sculpture". Once this option happened, people went crazy over it and sand bottle prizes soared to over 300NP per bottle!!! Good thing I hd a supply in my deposit box to sell off! I made a killing and so did many others!) The same thing happened with those videos that I told you about! It's bound to happen with things like "old boot" "pile of dung" "sandals" "tiki tac keyring" "lava rock" etc.. all those junk items... one day (it may be in several months) those might change into something else or retire.. if not, I only spent a few 100 NPs collecting junk in hopes of a fortune!
The theme park was interesting.. it never really took off, but there were a lot less people playing back then. You had to "open" your theme park, much like you do with your shop, by paying an initial fee of about 100NP... then you could choose what rides you wanted to have in your theme park and also how much each ride charged. The rides were pre-made by neopets but for a fee you could purchase them to be placed into your park. They had bumper cars, a roller coaster, some target-shooting games, and a bunch of others... Visitors would pay an entrance fee (set by you) or pay for each ride (set by you) - the visitors were other players on Neopets who could take their pets on the rides in your park and you would gain revenue from each time someone put a pet on one of your rides. There weren't any cute animations of anything, just similar to what happens when you play with your pet - nothing. You get a cute phrase and that was it, but they helped make your pet happy. The best part of the theme parks was the fact that you could design a layout for your "Entrance"!!! Up! Just like a shop or a guild, you could decorate it and advertize it all you wanted! There was a contest of who had the best theme parks in different categories like "Most NP Earned" "Most Rides" "Most Visitors" etc.. that's why you'll see a trophy for "Theme Parks" in some older users profiles. Eventually everyone just started making the rides free of charge and the idea eventually vanished... :-\ Mine was never impressive, but that was back when I was starting to play the game so I had very little NP for it.
i have the old shoe and the pile of dung, they are in my shop, will they still change if they are in your shop or do they have to be in your items, or deposit box?
and i have all the bottles of sand too, and all the poogles you get for playing poogle solitaire... do you think the same thing will happen to collectable cards, cause ive been gathering those up and i have a few that were really rare to begin with and some that are super common...
alls i know is it was this coin with an A on it, and i was really excited about finally being able to use it that i went and used it i got 15,000NP and my first rare food out of it, so i really wasnt disappointed even though i spent that all on cards and deck space, which now costs me 1000NP or more to make space...
and i got insurance and stuff on my house, i didnt know you could do that....
There is no guarantee that these common items will turn into something else, or that they will ever become popular, but there's no sense in regreting it later ;) They will be able to change wherever they are, but if they change to something neat, you better hope that they aren't in your shop for 5 NP when they're suddenly worth 5,000NP ;) It may take a while, just collect a bit of things, put them in your safety deposit box and forget about them. The SDB has no limit (I have over 500 items in one of them!) so you can put everything in there. I would recommend putting your cards in there too because it's free, unless you want to show them off.
The sand bottles aren't so popular anymore. They were for about a week after it was revealed that they could be changed in the Cooking Pot, now everyone has their neat sand sculptures and doesn't care about buying them to make more anymore. Just think ahead.. I mean, I wish I was smarter to collect more books because, once upon a time, the books were able to be used multiple times - they never disappeared! This means that most of them were only 10NP!! How else do you think I got my pets to "ULTIMATE GENIUS (114)"? haha! As soon as they decided the books would vanish, the prices on the books soared and it stimulated the Neo-Economy, so to say. Plus all the health foods and regular stuff ike "carrot" "green apple" "forest fruit baby food" etc.. all those things were about 10-20NP too, until somehow they become more expensive.. I don't know why, that happened when I was gone for a long time. I still haven't figured out why :-\
Anyways, my NeoHome.. I have insurance, lighting, carpets, and I think that's it, but I'm not very big on them. Did you know that there are some items you can interact with? If you have a lamp, you can turn it on and off, same with a speaker (expenisve as hell!), quiggle robot thingies, etc...
oh i know about turning the lights on and such... thats really neat... oh i dont have the dung and the shoe for sale.... but i have my bottles of sand i should take them down before someone buys them and just hang on for a while....
i know i raised my pets intelligence really fast i think... i think mine is brilliant or super brilliant or something like that... im trying to save massive amounts of neopoints and just have this huge shopping spree...
I think I've bought about one or two books for use since they started disappearing! I riased my pets' Intelligence back in the day when books were super super cheap! Lucky me ;) Occasionally Coltzan or a Faerie will increase my pets' intelligence..
I save to spend all my NP on my guild! I just bought about 10 Sunday Bushes for the top memebers of my guild for Easter. Those things are 1000NP a piece! I want to give them better gifts though...
