I'm Back!

Hello dear friends!
I decided to update my journal for the first time since I left for camp.

I worked at Camp Geneva in Holland this summer, bringing my time in Holland to about 45ish/52 weeks for this year. I had probably the most amazing summer of my entire life. I was a counselor of 3rd-6th graders for 10 weeks in the lovely cabin 5A. My campers were amazing, my cabinmate was amazing, and the staff was such a blessing to work with. I made some of the best friends I've ever had, and my heart is definately missing them right now.

I learned so much from my campers and the staff about love this summer. I learned how God just fills you up with so much unconditional love for the campers, how to truly love others, learning how to love myself, and taking down the barriers to let others love me too. God is just so amazing and I really believe that he does everything for a reason, which was definately proved this summer. I had so much fun singing, playing the guitar, being in skits, swimming, playing games, doing Bible study, making arts and crafts, and just hanging out with kids. I really miss the hugs...a lot.

It was hard to leave. There were people that I just didn't and still don't want to be apart from. Goodbyes made me sad and sappy, and I cried the whole way home. Such a big part of my life happened this summer, and it was over so fast.

Hopefully I will return next summer to be Aunt Mandy once again...we'll see. I would love to share the experience with more of my Hope friends, and all of the other amazing new people that I would meet. I guess we'll find out soon enough the plans God has in store.

Now I'm back at school. Living in Patterson cottage on Lincoln. It's a good place, with good people. It seems to be homework headquarters, and I kinda like that. It was good to see the people again. I really did miss them. But I'm definately different now...I think we all are. It's good and it's really cool to see.

School is pretty much kicking my butt this semester. 22.5 credits and 2 jobs already make my weeks pretty stinkin busy. But I'll get through it...we always do. Spending a lot of time doing homework with jeff, abby, and my housemates, so that's been fun. Our group, is finally all back together again...instrumental ed kids rock my socks! We'll get through this all together, we'll show them community!

So yeah...I miss free time and fun time, but it will all work out. I love all of you, my amazing, beautiful, talented friends, and I thank God for all of you.
