65. Reforming Freddy by Joan Elliot Pickart
Loveswept 204, 180 pages, not keeping
I always enjoy JEP's romances. Tricia Todd threatens to shoot 17 year old burglar Freddy with her nephew's water pistol, and that's when she met tough-guy cop Spence Walker. He thinks Freddy can't be reformed. She disagrees. She's cheerful. He's pessimistic. Freddy helps true love get back on course. (4/6)
66. Wild Poppies by Joan Elliot Pickart
Loveswept 190, 181 pages, not keeping
She's a widow with two young children, who, she decides, need a father. Luke Hamilton wasn't what she envisaged, but he certainly made her toes curl. He says he'll help her with her husband hunt, by teaching her to protect herself from all of the wolves out there. Naturally, they end up working out they're perfect for each other and the children. (4/6)
67. Riddles and Rhymes by Joan Elliot Pickart
Loveswept 317, 182 pages, not keeping (although I'm tempted as it's part of a quartet)
Liberty Shaw inherits a book shop after her aunt's sudden death. But where is Keats her cat, where are her aunt's clothes and what about the mysterious diary a frantic customer insists is hidden somewhere in the building? Finn O'Casey, artist, knew the facts didn't add up. Finn's sister Tabor married Jared Loring, and therein lies another tale, involving special agents and Miracles Casino. I have a fondness for romantic thrillers 0- naturally everything is all sorted out by the end of the book. (4.5/6)
68. Serenity Cove by Joan Elliot Pickart
Loveswept 305, 181 pages, not keeping (one of the quartet)
Nick Capoletti works at Miracles Casino - sadly no mystery/thriller plot with this one - so Jared & Tabor make an appearance. Single mother Pippa must come to terms with the fact Serenity Cove is failing and will need to be sold. can she put aside her dislike of casinos and learn to accept herself and make a life for daughter Emma with Nick? Of course she can, after 170 pages! (4.5/6)
69. Apprentice in Death by J.D. Robb
pb, futuristic crime, 374 pages, my brand new copy! keeping, of course.
Bought it yesterday, finished it today. No spoilers as it's new, except to say there's a sniper on the loose in New York. (5.9/6)
