At the World Cup -Mandy and Lavender

Jul 19, 2012 16:20

Mandy was so excited to be at the World Cup. So far the whole trip had been a great experience and she was having so much fun with Drew. It was also great to see Terry again and while yes she wasn't much of a fan of Daphne, she wasn't being a horrible person to her like she could be. She was very thankful her mother let her go along and trusted her ( Read more... )

"Mandy!" Lavender called out in return. She had broken away from the group to grab something to drink. There was an usually large smile on her face, even for happy Lavender.

"I didn't know you were coming this year! Who are you here with?"

Mandy gave her a wave and smiled. Besides Drew, Lavender was the only other Gryffindor she was okay with. "I'm here with Drew Kirke. He invited me along to come with him this year. And you?"

"That's so fun! I hear through the grape vine you are cute the new couple," she teased, very excited for Mandy. Drew was a great guy, always really pleasant and helpful.

"Roger and I come every year with Parvati and Eddie," Lavender explained. She said 'Roger and I' like they were a unit, which they always were, but this time it was more. She wondered if they were a couple now. It kept the smile on her face.

Mandy blushed a bit and shook her head. "We aren't a couple, it was just one date." She wouldn't mind at all if they were a couple.

She smiled and nodded "That sounds awesome. I hung out with Roger the other day. It was good to see him again."

"Oh, I'm sure it won' be the last," she guessed, feeling very excited for Mandy. It was true what they say - if you're happy with your love life, you'll be happy for others.

"It's good to see more of him. We've been in a weird place, lately. But well...I think that's all turned around now." Lavender almost giggled at the thought of it. She definitely blushed.

Mandy shrugged, "I wouldn't mind that." She didn't think Lavender would spill the news to anyone.

Mandy smiled at Lavender, "Yeah? That's great! I'm happy for you!"

"We finally talked about everything," she confided. Anyone who knew the both of them could have guessed what she was talking about. Roger and Lavender grew up together and were basically inseparable. Most people were shocked to find out that they hadn't gotten together yet.

"I finally told him how I feel."

Mandy smiled and grabbed Lav's hand. "That's so amazing! So you guys are like good now?" Lav could always tell there was something more between the two of them. She loved Roger to death and was close to Lav too so she wanted them both to be happy.

"More than good," she confirmed, a wide smile on her face. She always wore her emotions on her face.

"Though, I don't really know if we're a couple or not...we didn't get that far. It's an awkward topic to add to an even more awkward conversation."

She laughed, "I see. It seems both of us are both in the not couple but kind a couple phase. That's so crazy." She looked and noticed the line was still really long. "This is crazy busy. I've never seen so many people in one place before. Of course you are probably used to it coming every year."

"It's always overwhelming," she told her, laughing. When Lavender was little this place seemed huge and that feeling of awe never quite disappeared. It was what made it so exciting.

"Just wait until later when everyone is camping. It's a huge drunken mess."

She nodded. She couldn't imagine living with so many people around all this time. She wasn't claustrophobic but that many people is kinda scary.

When she mentioned afterwards she smiled, "Drew told me. It sounds like it'll be a true learning experience."

"It's great. I think I had my first drink here...when I was like twelve," she said, laughing. Of course it had been Roger that got her to drink. Lavender had been a bit of a lush ever since. It was an easy to way to kill the tension in any room.

"And we have a great selection if you want to pop over. I'm a rum girl myself but we have vodka and firewhiskey as well."

She laughed, "Always a good way to get indulged into things. I don't think my mum would have let me come here that young. I'm honestly surprised she let me come now." She loved her mother but sometimes she was a tad bit protective.

Many smiled at the invitation and nodded, "I'll be sure to stop by after the game. It'll be good to see everyone again as well."
