Okay so this is an unmitigated disaster
So I realize this is my first post in forever. I haven't actually been AWOL, I just haven't had much to say, lol.
But this "new Delicious" thing is more than enough to get me to break my silence. Most of you have probably realized that reccing and bookmarking are definitely areas of fandom where I'm the most active and so this development is actually pretty gutting.
I mean, Delicious really just threw their existing user base under a bus, didn’t they? Bundles and auto-complete for tagging are both gone. Hell, I can’t even see what all of my tags are anymore! (I have nearly 500 independent tags, y’all.) And it appears they’ve made some alterations which have effectively broken the links for all tags that include slashes. That’s probably not intentional but still hella annoying. And you can’t even fix them because the mass tag editing features are gone!
As for the new features, I don't quite know what to make of this "stacks" thing just yet. Seems kind of redundant, what with the tags. I guess we could maybe do some interesting things with them but I doubt fandom will be sticking around long enough to bother.
Thank fuck, I managed to export my 3000+ bookmarks. So, I guess the question now is where are we migrating to, friends?
