Today's events, some of them shocking.

I did a lot today.

I called in to work for only the third time in about a year and a half. Why? You might ask. While I told the people at work that I had a "family emergency" and must drive to Farmington, this was not actually the case. The truth is, I'm a procrastinator. And hadn't finished a rather large bit that was due in my Shakespeare class today. So from about 11 am to 515 pm I was working on a 200 word prospectus which outlines my intended direction for a research paper, the accompanying annotated bibliography, and a 300 word response paper regarding Julius Caesar. I did however in the midst of this go have lunch with cryptosporidosi at Kai's Chinese and ate some tasty tasty Cashew Chicken, that later decided to poke me in the small intestine. But so it goes.

To get to the point, I managed to finish all this stuff on time despite having hardly began before today. So I was moderately impressed with my quickness, but also disappointed in myself for being so irresponsible. This isn't, unfortunately, likely to have any effect on whether I finish my research paper in a timely manner. It is due in two weeks.

So I made it to class on time and turned everything in. Hoorah.

Then when I was walking home from class, I happened to run into Greg. Yes, brace yourselves for the shocking part. For it was not just Greg, but his new girlfriend. I don't remember her name, but the three of us did engage in some short conversation before parting ways. An unexpected turn of events it all was.

It does explain a bit about why Greg and I seemed to have an even greater falling out in that friendship of ours. Granted, neither of us are good at calling people, but I still felt a bit betrayed. It does explain his gradual disappearance over the last few months though. And also perhaps why he chose not to pursue anything between us. I guess Verucka's tarot reading did end up correct! Oh the bitter irony of it all. Next time I should listen to my intuition a little more. And be more weary of those people I might come across who are flaky.

On a slightly different note, in about 15 days time, someone from afar who is of the less flaky variety will be here. Woot for that!

For now, I sleep.
