These are the things I do when I'm bored because I forgot my book.

✓ I miss somebody right now. (One or two people)
× I don't watch much TV these days. (I'm watching WAY more than I used to (ie none). Go Mythbusters!)
✓ I own lots of books. (Yes. I have about 3 boxes in my room

So much of it says "these are things bored small-town teen thinks are way out there and exciting".
As for the books - the only thing limiting my possession of books is a) funds and b) space. :D And I will, and have, happily given up b before
*grin* remember, you're talking to someone who just recently bought both the perfectly good apartment my fmily have been renting this past five years and the one next door sso that we'd have adequate book space for a bit.
Prostitution is legal in, if I recall correctly, Nevada. Legally run brothels would a) mean that the women working there recieve both proper medical care (enforced I seem to recall), contraceptives, and, above all, safety. I have no objections that people want to seek physical pleasure and are willing to pay a price for it. Frequently that means they are looking to relieve the bodily urges but either are not prepared for the emotional ties, or perhaps HAVE those ties but no method of relieving those urges. Personally I tend to think of the physical side of things as rather minor in the overall scheme of things, and see no reason why someone can't pay a 'professional' for a selfish moment of pleasure. There's probably more, and usually I'm much better at articulating myself in writing.. but apparently not today.
I'm pretty much exactly with you on that, though with the added input of... have you read Samuel Delany's Times Square Red, Times Square Blue ? It's a pair of long essays, one very personal and one very analytical, about the culture of gay men around Times Square before it was "cleaned up", and some of what it presents as models of how sexual interactions worked in that community seem to be things it would be very beneficial to implement in other contexts.
Clothless in private I can do. Clothless around other people.. not so much. :)
It depends on the people; I was raised in a conservative and pretty body-hostile culture, and then after about twenty found myself drifting into parts of SF fandom that include a fair number of people with about as much body-modesty as cats, which I find congenial; also I give backrubs a lot. Which has left me generally OK to deal with pretty much any set of preferences on the matter but utterly lousy at figuring out what is or is not apt for any given person, and also lousy at remembering how strongly lots of people associate taking clothes off with other motivations than comfort. Have had no communication disasters on that one yet, but it feels like there's potential there, alas.
I have never had sushi. I have had some bad experiences with seafood. I want to try sushi - I don't want to go to a sushi restraunt and pay oodles of money if I end up taking a bite and totally loathing it. Despite the fact I've mentioned it a few times, my friends have remained 100% clueless. :D
Don't suppose you're likely to be in Montreal any time soon ? I know a good all-you-can-eat Japanese place that does a menu with some sushi and plenty of other stuff, which would be ideal for trying things out and still getting a decent meal if the raw fish is not to your taste.

I haven't read that book yet. Sounds interesting. Most of the time I end up avoiding non-fiction since I have difficulty locating things that appeal to me. That, and most books stores just label things 'non-fiction' with no sub-division by 'social commentary' ectera, wich would make things MUCH easier for me. While I have no objections to spending hours in a book store, the thought of wading through acres of true crime books makes me shudder. >_<
-I had a somewhat odd upbringing. My father was rather old fashioned, but my mother was somewhat less so - more of a 60's child in some ways. :) I tend to think personality plays a huge role. My sister was insanely uninhibited, and my brother not far behind her. I, however, tended to wear jeans and long sleeved shirts even on the hottest days. Of course, I had, and still have, a bad body image. North American culture can be just as tough on people - it's okay to wander around practically naked if you look one way, but not okay to show any skin if you look another. I find it all rather sad.
Me? In MOntreal? :O Probably not. Although it'd be cool, since I've only every been through it, but never visited. Sadly, travel plans are not currently on my list. :|
Sorry about the format thing. LJ is weird sometimes. Just.. weird.
