So being that it's thanksgiving and all and I'm back in San Diego, it was only natural that me, Mark, and Brenden (Bridget) end up at the local bar... with EVERYONE else from high school. it's was like this random high school reunion, which was so weird because I haven't seen most of these people in like 5 years. What really struck me (though I can't say I'm totally shocked) is the "cool" people still acted like they were the shit, and still hung out with the same crowd and still pretended like they didn't know who the fuck as was (that came out wrong... i definitely wasn't devoid of friends in high school...we were just the popular kids that were actually gonna go somewhere in life)... but then there were those other people that I NEVER talked to in h.s. that were totally like "omg, i know you...." and we'd chat for a few minutes and catch up. It was actually a lot of fun. But I was glad that it's not an every weekend event and that I've moved on from S.D.
Other lesson of the evening: there's some cool ass jobs out there that other people are doing and are making good money at... I think it's time for me to find one of those, because seeing all these people after so long and saying "yea, i work at an accounting firm" just doesn't roll of the tongue like "oh yea, i'm a wine distributor", "oh yea, i'm a graphic designer", "oh yea, my roommate's a sex toy buyer"...
