Waverly :)

I went to Waverly last night for the midnight tour ^.^ For those of you who do not know what that is, Waverly Hills is an old sanitorium that was constructed to treat everyone who got TB during the height of the epidemic. Jefferson county, btw, had the most cases in the nation. Over 63,000 people died there, and with the conversion of the building to a nursing home it is estimated that as many as double that number of people actually died there. Sadly, the records were lost. The place is said to be VERY haunted and is one of the few places that actually stands up to the test. So me, david, tara, and jess all went for the tour of waverly and it was a real treat. The tour started out nice enough. We went through the all the places we could and heard the occasional buzz that shouldnt be there, tempeture change for no reason, or break in the shadows. We went all over but the real show was on the fourth floor. We stood in a group facing down the hallway and waited in the dark. The only light was moonlight from the busted out windows. Now, we were above or right at the treeline. We were told to look halfway down the hall at the floor and to pay attention to the breaks in the light that we could see. Well, that whole hallway went PITCH black just like someone turned off the lights and then light again, too quickly to be a cloud. The guide had a laser pointer he was using that only stopped on solid objects. He was flashing it around and it stopped on an object that when we went down the hallway there was nothing at all there. There was a shape of a man in the doorway and a face peaked around the corner at us (but I didnt see that one). At one point there was an extra shadow on the wall and there was no way it could of been someone on the tour. Now, this was less than 3 feet from me. But I got even closer to a ghost when one went between me and jess (this was felt and backed up with a reading from an electromagnetic reader thingy). Something was also breathing on my arm. And you know, it wasnt really scary just facinating. I really recomend you go there if you get a chance. Oh, but dont go down the body chute. Its long, its hot, very very dirty and moldy. Plus the climb back up sucks ASS. I took a few pictures up there. I will post them when I get them developed.
