Sit down, relax, and read my little story for laughter (at Amanda's expense... literally):
During the two month time period Marek and I had broken up, I talked to one guy (Henri) for just short of two weeks in early November and this other guy I knew for awhile (Bob) in early thru mid December. The last week of November through the first week of December I got suckered in, by a commercial, to joining eHarmony. Sad, I know. Hush yourselves please. I tested it for a week, and then there was a deal - $30 for a three month membership - so I said "Hey, why not..." and signed-up for entertainment, going against my normally decent senses. One week later, after 'purchasing' a membership, I was bored with it, so I went to cancel my subscription. I did... sort of.
Yesterday, three months after signing-up initially, my account/membership got renewed for one month ('til March 28th)... charging my credit card $30. I got the e-mail, stared at my screen in a state of disbelief for a moment, then clicked my mouse on-over to the website ASAP... because in the e-mail it stated I had only 'semi' (?!) cancelled my membership. I checked, and lo' and behold - I joke not - I had not done some FINAL QUESTONAIRE to cancel my subscription, formally. Needless to say, I completed my cancellation the moment I figured all this ridiculous stuff out.
Can you say BUUUUUULL SHIIIIIIIT? (I know I can.)
Tomorrow I might call the credit card company, as suggested by Marek, and see if I can get the charge reversed...
I can appreciate the humor in this, though the loss of money is not remotly entertaining to me.
