So Mom comes into my office yesterday to show off her big sparkly ring.
*SIGH!* So happy for her, but I want that ring, dammit!
I was thinking about it, and Mom and I don't have a typical mother/daughter relationship, and we never really did. She always assumed I was just smart enough to know better, and 99.9999 percent of the time, I was. She told me I was the easiest kid EVAR to parent, because I never did stupid shit and never wanted to. She would tell me horror stories of her friends' kids who were doing drugs and having to be sent off in the middle of the night to boot camp, and she'd hug me and say, "God, I'm glad you're mine, or I'd have to hate you and whoever got you."
We're talking about wedding plans, I loaned her two of my makeup books. She's going to have me do her makeup and maybe her hair, unless my uncle has dibs on that. (I think he'll want to do that, which I'm fine with.) She wants to peruse my makeup case - we're gonna have a get together and play with makeup like a bunch of pre-teens.
God, I love my mom.
And hey, if you're reading this, and I know you do from time to time, congrats again!
