Warped 2006 lovers

So Warped was the best/worst day of my life. I went with James and Cory.

I don't know what the temperature was yesterday, but I think it was somewhere around pleasegodkillmenowinolongerhavethewilltolive. Probly the seriously hottest day of my life....and it wouldn't have been that bad if I had had water to drink. We brought two bottles, and we didn't have to go through security because we got in free for signing up to pick up bottles and cans there....so we got to go in a special way where there was no security. So, we got to keep the caps to our bottles, bc normally they take them off so you can't refill them. Anyways, we go to refill the bottles, and the water in every single drinking fountain they had there tasted like metal. It was nasty, like sooo disgusting. Well I was just told the combination of temperature and humidity yesterday was 110 degrees. At least there was wind though, or else everyone would have passed out and died. Plus, we sat in the shade a lot bc there was a big spot shaded by trees, that was kinda our savior. Then, when we wanted to eat lunch, we waited in line in the BLAZING sun for about 45-50 minutes while these slowashell workers got people food. I ordered the "value meal" which was a hot dog, fries, and small (I mean really small) drink for $6..thought it was the best deal there, but it was the most unsatisfying meal I ever had in my life. Fries were too salty, hot dog was too greasy...bah. Anyways, now onto the good parts.

I saw Kritty and lyndsey, and then Katie from afar. And met up with Beth and her bf briefly before we lost them.

Saw Thursday, Hellogoodbye, the Bouncing Souls, Emanuel, Cory saw the Casualties but I didnt, same with NOFX, then I saw 30 Seconds to Mars, and AFI, oh god, my loves, I practically died of joy.

Ok, Thursday were amazing, and Geoff Rickly is the awesomest person ever. He was like "Ok, if you're a new fan or this is your first Thursday show, I want you to do me a favor. Go online, type in Thursday, and download all our songs. I'm serious. Music isn't about the money, it's about the MUSIC! Think for yourself, don't let other people make decisions for you....." and more stuff and it was the best thing I've ever heard.

Hellogoodbye were good, and of course really cute. Emanuel, very good, but they need a new cd.

30 Seconds to Mars kicked serious ass, Jared Leto is obviously extremely hot, but what I didn't know was he really does have an amazing voice. They sound the same live as they do on the cd, which is increasingly rare these days. He was in all white and had pink eyeshadow, kinda weird but it worked for him I guess. The only thing was, I think he has some identity confusion going on. He jumped into the crowd like Davey does, and earned some bashing from Cory for it, but he had the crowd hold him up while he sung, exactly like Davey does. Then during one of the songs, he busted out with "I wanna fuck you like an animal, I wanna feel you from the inside..." and I was like wtf does he think he's Trent Reznor now? But other than that, they were awesome. Then at the end, he said something like "thank you all sooo much for sharing this with us. We love you, Buffalo. And I thank you for giving us a show I will NEVER FORGET as sure as I stand on these two fucking feet" and then he said "Now we're going to go to our Merch booth and wait there to meet every fucking one of you" or something like that. So he and one of the other band members took their flags off the stage and like marched through the crowd being followed by all their fans. It was pretty cool.

Then came afi. I don't think words can do them justice. They all came out, took their places, and began with Girls Not Gray. I was trying to take pictures at the time, so I missed most of the "experience" of it. Next they played The Leaving Song Pt 2 and I took more pictures, then a video of it. After that, I passed the camera off to cory because I just wanted to watch them with my mouth hanging open. Next I believe they played Dancing Through Sunday, which was a surprise to me. Next I think was Love Like Winter, then Kill Caustic. Then came Silver and Cold. Towards the end of S&C, Davey's voice kinda went kaput and on the last line "oh my beautiful one" he was all raspy and losing his voice and I almost cried. I thought something was wrong, and after that song, he motioned "cut" to someone offstage, like you know, hand across throat type thing so I thought they were gonna have to stop, but they had one more song after that, Miss Murder. Of course throughout this performance they all jumped around and stood on the bass drum and did all these awesome moves, and Davey dropped the mic at the end of two songs just for you know, dramatic effect or whatever and I loved every minute of it. He also spent some time crawling/kneeling on the floor. The only thing was, I was facing the sun the whole time so I had to do a little hand shield so I could see them, and plus, from where I was standing, I couldn't see Adam at all...so I never got a picture of him. Oh yeah, and before their second song, Davey was like "good morning Buffalo" and this was at 6:45 in the pm. Loved it. I don't really remember anything else he said except for "Here's a little bit of December for you" before they played Love Like Winter, but I don't think he said much else than that. I can't believe I finally saw them...it means so much to me. I know I sound like a faggot but I had been waiting for that for like 2-3 years. I want more. I need more of them.
