shopping, bbq, and freedom…

I got put "on call" again tonight... so the next day I'm supposed to be working will be Thursday... which means its actually gonna be almost seven days I am free. A potentially bad yet surprisingly good thing to be happening right now, especially since I'm starting to feel lazy about my job.

Anyways, I had four days off for the fourth of July weekend! I went shopping on the 2nd -- gifts for the kids, my two adorable neices and my coworker Ate Vangie's kid's baptismal gift. It was cute little clothes and a bunch of books for Abbey, my older neice. I think she'll like this book entitled The Daring Book for Girls that I got at Barnes & Noble. On the 3rd, me and the family impulsively went on a trip to Koreatown... ate at Mu Dung San for korean bbq and went shopping for a bit at Koreatown Plaza. One of those days that I am absolutely thankful that I have a stable paying job as a nurse, seriously. I bought all these Kpop albums and cute pencils to my heart's content ^^

July 4th was super fun as well... we went shopping (again!) at Ontario Mills, I think I got some gold sandals, these really cool looking wire earrings from GUESS, a shiny blue Steve Madden bag, and some clothes from GAP.

Then we drove over to my brother's house for a backyard bbq -- I even watched the fireworks with my neices, even though I was so dead tired (and fell asleep a few times). It was pretty awesome, the baby back ribs, pancit palabok, and watermelon... simple but I kinda missed hanging out like that with my family. Its a definitely nice break from our busy hectic lives.
