Plans for London next year are well underway.
My passport is all good to go.
I'm just about to send in my application for IEP's work Britain program which will get my visa and my flights all sorted out.
I'm hoping to go for my Senior First Aid certificate which I currently don't have, and perhaps my Bronze medallion. These things will help me significantly.
One problem I am going to have to face late next year is applying for my J-1 visa. The rules are so extreme, I'm going to have to prove that I have significant ties here that I'm going to return home after my visa expires. This will be hard as a) I don't have a job to return to b) I don't have house repayments to make. It has been done before but is more difficult than applying from your home country. With all the shit that I went through to get my passport maybe it won't be so difficult on the scale of things that are difficult.
Plus, I actually plan on going to Canada afterwards. I'm thinking that maybe booking a flight from US - Canada before I go to my US consulate interview might work, as it will show proof that I am leaving the country. Even if I forfeit that flight I don't believe they are that expensive anyway.
If it all fails I'm going to have to return back here and do my US consulate interview in Perth, which just means more $$$ and an interruption to my time in the UK (which I will probably be returning to afterwards to complete my time there).
Anyway, I'm sure it will all work out, I just needed some place to bleed my thoughts.
