I Escaped!!!
okay, so it's only a week's vacation but i am officially no longer in the us until saturday and i'm excited. spent a frantic afternoon tearing apart jay's apartment and house trying to find his passport (no luck, but we had a birth certificate so it was okay) then hung out with him and his friend steve (who was really cool and drives an element which i'd never seen before... they're kinda scary in their hugeness), went to the walmart for last minute packing needs then came back and packed from like 1-3 am and then tried to sleep and kept remembering something i'd forgotten or packed that i didn't need so i finally fell asleep at like 4:15 and then got up at 6:15, got dressed, took down the trash, had a bowl of cereal and then we headed out. we ran into my dad on the road as we passed through lagrange (we were stopping for mcdonalds and he was just going into work) so that was fun, got to wave like idiots and talk on the phone within sight of each other and since i won't get to see him again for another two weeks at least i was glad to get to see him. the drive was pretty uneventful, gorgeous weather until we got to canada and then it was still nice and cool, just rainy. stopped for swiss chalet for lunch and tim horton's donuts then drove some more just for a change of pace and got to the condo at about 6. its been nice to just stretch out, watch some tv and hang out with no real worries or responsibilities in the immediate future (well, the next 5 days). then i get to come back to louisville saturday night and have my choir audition sunday afternoon and school (and callbacks) start monday. woot. bad timing but what the hell, it's still gonna be a fun semester i think (i hope). anyway, hope everyone's having a great summer and enjoying the last few days left of school-free wonderfulness and i'll see or talk to whoever when i get back.
