2018 Year in review

Feb 03, 2019 23:10

Oh What a year 2018 was! Hard one to sum up... lots of changes and new beginnings or ends to previous things. Maybe it was a year of tieing up ends / finishing things that once were my 20s.

here we go.... in no specific order: The highlights / significant moments of 2018.

2018:
  • Started the year on a debauchery event in Deerhurst report having stupid fun.
  • Best Friend's bachelor party
  • Best Friends Wedding!! Where I got to be in the wedding party for the first time AND Wear a smashing Suit! Loved it! It was a fantastic wedding filled with loved ones and celebration of each other.
  • Trip to Cuba as my first romantic getaway/winter escape with Mila in Feb and it was totally worth every penny.
  • finished (mostly) decorating the house... got carpet, desk chair, and vinyl player/stand.
  • Got hired to do a series of photographs for Vaughan! the highest paying commission I have done to date, doing exactly what I want.
  • took a big risk - let go of something to create change. Ended a year-long relationship with Mila.
  • applied to teachers college (again) which this time didn't pan out - However, took another big risk in an attempt to create change and left Vistek, my job of 1 year and 8 months. Leaving me with lots of open space to create change in September.
  • Started something very new with Damian where he showed loyalty and true love.
  • Got My First piercing (other than my ears) Got my septum pierced.
  • New endings as Nocturne my favorite club in Toronto, the last of the Queen West alternative scene closed.
  • Went on two more excellent trips: Out to the East coast and visited Damian's grandparents and New Orleans to visit Christine
  • Found out I can't cliff jump
  • went on the CN tower Edge walk
  • Pulled off another great Halloween costume and great Christmas card.
  • Started a few new jobs... temporary and random.. we will see how they evolve.
  • went to my favorite restaurant of all time. Antler,  for my birthday
  • Threw myself what I thought was a cute theme party, a hard rock tea party.
  • Started shooting a new art project (wow finally)

Was an emotional year, ended so many things haha and only slept with two people this year - record low lol - It seems to be a year full of symbolic changes at now both of my best friends are married (they both got married this year) I take it as the true end to what I felt I knew about myself in the 20s. I am starting to learn the new Amanda in her 30s and what this might mean for my life. I learned so much about love this year.. more than I have ever learned! and that is so wonderful for this year.

2019 - I want to focus on accomplishing a few new things on my bucket list and having some memorable fun. The odd years have always been about fun. I am in a spot where I also need to find myself something to focus my career and create path and meaning to my life again. However, these "fun" adventures I like to go on in the odd years tend to re-focus me and help tune my life compass to where I need to be going next.
