Hey all, about that time again! My once-every-blue-moon update about life, the universe, and everything.
This summer's been pretty good to me so far ^..^ It began with me getting down to some serious work with Isotx, the company I work for online. That was fun, and I was hoping to get to work for them full time at a central base somewhere, but they could never settle on a place to go. Lots of names were tossed around, and the mention of Togo was of particular interest to me, but the most likely locale seemed to be Orlando, FL or Austin, TX. As of writing, the company hasn't settled anywhere, so I'm now in the process of looking for another job.
And find another job I may already have...
The US Navy wants me to fly for them. As an officer. For lots of money. And they want to pay for me to finish my degree so I can become said officer. This could be the opportunity of a lifetime... Imagine, piloting an F/A-18 through the wild blue yonder... I'd always been interested in military service, but during my years at uni several things deterred me; the war in Iraq not the least of which. Well, not many planes getting shot down these days, so I should be alright methinks! To be fair, a future in the US Navy is a heck of a lot better than one at some backwoods museum, and it's got a lot more money involved in it too. I need to talk to the Air Force tomorrow and see if they're willing to offer a nicer deal, but somehow I doubt it. Oh well. Big choices to make; so I'm taking my time.
And, finally for today, little stuff that interests me these days.
Deathstars - This Swedish metal band earned the nickname "Swedestein" from me due to their musical similarity to a certain popular German group. Check them out here:

It's got bad graphics, cheesy dialogue, 150 weapons but only a dozen weapon models, four vehicles of which only two are worth anything, poor sound quality, sketchy physics, about eight types of enemy fought over 53 levels... Yet it's ridiculously addictive and amusing. My housemate and I have been playing it cooperatively for hours and hours, and will probably play it for hours more. If you've got a 360, two controllers, a friend, and a love for B-movie action and wanton destruction, pick it up and give it a try!
