Who: Yu and You (hush~). Where: Residential Area; one of the two parks When: 7/24, afternoon Rating: PG Notes: I apologize in advance; Yu is a tad tone deaf...
Helen had taken to exploring the city. While she was mainly based out of the Old Town district, she did visit the others quite frequently. Setting up connections, attempting to find some allies in the crazy world she found herself in. She catches the sound of the tune before she does the singing, turning around the corner of the park to find Yu sitting there playing. A fair amount of distance is kept between her and Yu, not wanting to interrupt his playing. Instead she folds her hands together and simply watches on with a fond smile on her face. While the tuning might be far from perfect, the emotion is there. That is sometimes more important than actually getting the tune right.
Truth be told, it had been a while since he played anything other than the trumpet. Between the investigation, sudden social life and school clubs, he hadn't had much time to practice back home or in Aliunde. The former because he didn't have room in his budget to actually purchase one. Yu pauses in his playing, tightening a few of the strings before testing it again...
This time, the tune is a new one. Apparently the first was only a warm up. The tuning is definitely better, at least.
At sunrise, open your eyes take a good look outside and wonder, "Is this right?" Because deep down inside there's something that's left to discover. Is your grand design hand-woven or divine?
It's almost odd, how isolated he seems yet what he's playing is filled by a sense of peace and a ray of hope.
The guitar was far from her forte. Her musical expertise was in the piano. Not from having a lack of time to master others, but, the piano expressed who she was perfectly. Not to mention it was always viewed as an old world instrument, which Helen was very much still "old world."
Reaching into her wallet, Helen walked up to Yu and held a bill out to Yu. She was certain he wasn't doing this for money, as usually music was a way of expressing feelings. Despite that, she believed that he should receive recognition for the tunes. The music isn't perfect, but evoking emotions was always far more important than perfection.
Which was all well and fine, because he kind of liked the piano. Only it... just wasn't for him. Brass and strings, on the other hand, were definitely something he could play. Guitar was one of them, trumpet was the other-
Yu blinked, hearing the footsteps before seeing who it was. "...Magnus-san?" Why are you paying him, and more importantly.. how long had she been standing there listening?
Suddenly he felt a strange mixture of self-consciousness and pride.
That it was. He nodded in greeting, wondering if this was how Ayane felt when someone caught her playing by the riverbank back in Inaba... because he almost seemed to be embarrassed before smiling back.
"I was in school band off and on, back home." He wouldn't say which town because there were too many that he'd been to. So many schools that it was ridiculous. Yet only one really stood out for him, now. Funny what one year's time could do.
"A man of many talents. I wonder what you'll surprise me with next." First he had summoned a unique sort of being, and now he had a hidden musical talent. She does wonder what else he has in his extensive talent tree.
Her hands folded in front of her. "Have you had much success playing out in the sun, or, am I just interrupting?"

"Hello, Yu-kun." Helen replied. "I wasn't aware you had a musical talent."
