[Ezio was busy wandering the party. He wasn't used to modern clothes still, but he'd decided to try to fit in a little with a nice suit. He didn't like it very much but he knew he looked good in it, and that was easily enough to relax him into wearing it.

Still, he made a point of avoiding talking to too many people, because he felt strange and out of place while trying to actually fit in. Modern clothes were so odd.]

You know, I half-expected you to show up in your robes.

[ Says the significant other who is suddenly behind him. Helen apparently is learning from the assassins that randomly stop by. ]

[He turns at her voice and gives her a light smile.]

Ah, I considered it. I feel... ridicolo.

[ Helen tilts her head, popping a playful eyebrow out. Oh yes, she is entirely looking him over in the suit in front of everyone. Not that they'll notice. ]

If it helps at all, darling, you hardly look ridicolo.

[His smirk spreads over his face and he takes her hand, kissing her knuckles.]

Grazie. Sei bellissima, Helen.

[ She laughs gently and gives him a purely happy smile. It's been rough since Ashley arrived, but, the party is a good way for her to take her mind off it for now. Hopefully Ashley does attend and meet some friends of her own. ]

If I had known you all were going to dress this way, I would have shown up in something more appropriate. [ Instead of the rather semi-casual look she has. She steps forward and kisses him on the lips briefly. ] Buon Natale, Ezio.

I think what you are wearing is perfect. [It seemed right that she would dress beautifully yet comfortably in her own party, and that everyone else would dress up to show her how much they cared to put effort into something she had done for them in return.

Smiling down into the kiss she gave him, he brushed his hand against her cheek.] Merry Christmas to you too, amore.

I think you'd say that about anything I chose to wear. [ Helen tosses her hair side to side before giving him a small laugh. ]

Have you been alright? [ She has been worried about him, and Kate. Desmond leaving certainly hit Kate harder than even Helen expected... and she knows Ezio tends to bottle things just as Helen herself does. ]

Is it my fault you are beautiful? [He laughs a bit, but then she asks that and he considers for a moment, shrugging a little.]

As much as I ever am, I suppose. I miss him, but I think it is better he is there to handle things at home.

That, I'm afraid, you'd have to blame genetics for. [ It's far too easy to just joke around with Ezio. ]

You're proud of him. [ And it wasn't the display on the network that makes her say that. ] Am I to be expecting any more of your hooded brothers to show up tonight?

Or thank, rather than blame.

[He smiles a little, with a nod. He is. He's so damn proud of Desmond.] It is possible. I never know when they plan to crash these parties.

I'm certain my father would have had a few choice words for you if he had ever met you.

[ More like the words of "Helen, darling, why do you have such an odd taste in men." ] Even if he is your spiritual mentor, Ezio, I will give Altaïr a stern talking to if he crashes my party.

Oh, I have no doubt about that. Most fathers were never fond of me.

[He laughs at that.] I'm sure he'll be on his best behaviour, bella.

He was rather wary of the men I chose. With good reason.

[ We all see how John turned out. ] He had better be. Otherwise I may need to board up that spire.

Understandably, all fathers tend to be. Brothers too, I remember beating up my sister's fiancee for being unfaithful.

[He laughs at that.] Malvagia donna!

Unfaithful is a tad different than my record. [ Helen shrugs honestly. ]
