[Peter doesn't say anything yet. He doesn't feel like saying anything, at first. Instead, he simply crawls across the ceiling as she decorates, watching for a while and smiling to himself. Christmas is great and even without Aunt May and Uncle Ben, he's sure it'll be awesome with Helen, even if he hates the idea that Aunt May will be alone for their first Christmas without Uncle Ben.
He shuffles across the ceiling a little more, then pauses above her.] Need a hand?
[He flinches and tenses up, and if anyone knows spiders he's doing exactly what a spider does when it thinks it's been spotted; curling up on himself and playing dead, but he can't pretend he's not right there and she's looking right at him.]
I was just... getting about. I can hang stuff up higher if you need me to?
[ It takes a moment for her to pick up on his body language, but all she does is roll her eyes. Peter, darling, your spider is showing. ]
Getting about on the ceiling? You do realize how dangerous that is. [ Especially if they find that flying abnormal-- ] Generally Henry is in charge of putting the lights up in the chandelier... [ Oh, the last time someone crawled on the ceiling to do that, Will was badly injured. ]
But I stick to it! I won't just fall off or anything... [He lets his legs dangle and drops down to the floor, standing up straight and looking a little sheepish.] Then I'll help down here, if you want. I just... want to help out around the place.
[He was usually in charge of helping Uncle Ben get everything set up, decorations at least, while Aunt May would cook and it was just weird not doing anything at all.]
Unless there's a loud sound or bright light to distract you. [ Except for the fact she imagines his sixth sense would tell him about dangers before that happens. ] You're always helping, Peter.
[ She motions for him to come down so she can give him the lights to change out. ]
Cats also totally eat spiders, so we're not getting one, right? [He half smiles at that.]
I just... used to have to do a lot for Aunt May and Uncle Ben and here I'm not expected to do chores or anything and it's... weird. I don't know... I'm just not... good.
I had several cats over the years. These days I hardly have time for pets. [ Because she is too busy mothering all of you. ]
If you need something to do, Peter, I can always find something. Even with Kate and Henry here, with the help from Guinevere and Raven? We always need more help. [ She folds her hands together. ] What exactly would you like to help out with? Besides the general statement of "anything."
[He nods a little bit, then shrugs slightly, finally moving to start putting the lights up.] I don't know what needs to be done, but I really will help however you need me to. I just want to help as many people as I can. It's my responsibility to do good wherever I can.
[ At that remark, Helen smiles at him. Then she opens her arms for the box again. ] Then, I think there's something I may need your help with. Beyond all the decorating.
You also go to school, have top grades, and run around in a suit saving people. [ Her eyebrows perk up. Don't play that game, Peter, she'll win.
She puts the box down and then motions for him to follow her. Helen leads him straight to the elevator and steps inside when it opens. ] Good. I rather think you'll enjoy this.

Peter Parker! What on Earth are you doing up there? [ She does not care if you are part spider, you will hurt yourself. Get down. ]

Peter follows quietly, shoving his hands in his hoodie pockets as he does.] What are we doing?

If you're going to help with the Sanctuary, Peter, then you need to properly know it. Don't you think?
