[Oh snap, that voice. She knows that voice. But the sudden rush of relief and excitement that follows the recognition takes a nosedive in about the same moment the video feed does, and despite the fact she should probably be used to his stunts by now....yeah, there's a very concerned noise on this end, Altaïr, good job.]
[Out of habit and for the sake of the new environment? The video is keeping away from him but he is more receptive to the voice, all things considered. ... Guilty about the stunt? .. Not really.]
I could show you, if you wish. It is not as danger as it looks. [.. Teasing. Maybe.] Anathema, where are we?
Tempting as the offer is, I try to avoid leaping off of buildings myself. [No. Teasing doesn't make it better. No matter what the small, relieved smile that crosses her face might say. She takes the hint, though, from his insistent avoidance of the camera, and refrains from actually using his name.]
We're....honestly, I still don't know much more beyond the basics myself. They call it Mandalus. [And the more she does learn, the more she wants nothing to do with it. But that's a rant for another time.] Where are you? When did you arrive?
I thought so. [The amusement in his voice is apparent.]
So I have heard. I am in one of the sections, by a more noticeable building. [He moves the camera to give a view of Sanctuary, then returns it to the ground.] Where are the others, what is the reason for this?
The others aren't here. [Just the two of them. Sure, she's trying to be optimistic, assume it's only the two of them for now, but. Yeah, that's still some heavy discontent in her tone.] Here, don't go anywhere. I think I know where that building is, and we should have this discussion in person.
Thank you. [Just listen to that relief, Altaïr. If she's honest with herself, wanting a discussion is really a flimsy excuse at best. She just needs one to actually see him, make sure he's really okay, and she wastes no time in placing the little device back into her satchel and taking off almost immediately after.]
[It actually takes her close to a half hour to finally reach the Sanctuary, and then find what looked like the general area she had seen in his video. Really, you'd think a guy dressed like he is would be easier to find, but....] Altaïr? I'm sorry, I haven't had the chance to explore as well as I should....
[When he sees Anathema, he steps forward and into view, out of his current hiding spot, just in case. Shaking his head to the apology, he raises a hand and motions for her to walk with him. Better to be moving than stationary, even in conversation.] I believe that is understandable, considering the state of this place compared to Icarus...
SHE'LL NEVER LEAVE YOU AGAIN /o/ a;skjdcn sob and so sorry for the late
[And there he goes, with that nasty habit of just appearing out of nowhere. She's still not used to it enough to keep from looking startled, but at least this time she's no longer annoyed by it. She just falls into step right beside him, without question.]
Still highly annoyed overall, but other than that? I'm quite well. [Essentially, just about the same as always. But her flat smile fades somewhat when she looks up at him.] And you? You're not....?
[Not hurt? Sick? If anything had happened in Icarus since she was taken and she hadn't been there to help....]
[And that's appreciated, because it's familiar and Anathema is probably one of the only people he's fully comfortable with speaking to, considering circumstances. Finding comfort in the answer, he shakes his head towards the question.] I was not struck before being brought here, no worries. The others, however...
[They're still there. And boy if it doesn't leave a sour taste in his mouth.] It appears fortune does not smile upon any of us.
....so you haven't seen Mr. Clarke, or....anybody else. [Mr. Naughton and Miss Frost, Cody and CK. If they had been in the city, Altaïr would have found them by now, she's sure enough of that. The fact that he hasn't....well. Even Ana can't stay optimistic forever, and that saddened, sullen look now?]
What if something happened to Icarus? That lady, she needed our help. I don't think she would have let us just be taken like this. [Or maybe that's just too much wishful thinking on her part? She shakes her head, smiles almost bitterly.] And do you know that these people here, it sounds as if they expect us to fight an all out war for them?
Not Emma, CK, or any others, no. [He frowns at that, lowers his head before look over to Ana and then maybe.. Just a small nudge.] Keep your head any lower and your chin will be touching the ground.
[There is that thought, yes. His brows furrow at the idea and he grunts, barely.] It's possible that she fought with whoever brought us here, and lost. Either way, this is against our will, and our hand is being forced, with our own worlds being threatened.
[....alright, so the nudge is a little unexpected. But she nudges back with a small smile, maybe leans on him for a moment after. Okay, no, she really can't be moping around like she has been, not while she still has people she needs to look after.]
That what they claim, yes. [Of course, she still can't quite keep the bitterness from her voice, and the smile slowly fades again.] Granted, after kidnapping us like they have, they could claim whatever they liked in order to try and keep us compliant.
And I just.... [She pauses. Frowns a bit.] I don't like this whole war business. There's two sides to every one, and neither can ever truly be justified.
[Not shifting away from the motion, he can't help but take the comfort where it can, steadies himself once more when the words continue.]
It does appear to be a beloved calling card of theirs - say something to persuade us into sympathy. [He frowns, shakes his head.] Picking the lesser of two evils is just how it sounds. This is their war, and we are in the middle of it.
Justified or not, that is our situation, which leaves us with a choice.

I wish you would stop doing that!

Then what of- [His voice drops just as he thinks about it. She can probably hear his grip tightening on the device.] Fine. I will not move, then.

All worlds, from what I gather.
