[As the feed flicks on, a hooded figure appears, one that those here on the Day of Arrival would recognise. No matter how you try to turn off your phone, it will not work, it insists upon showing you this. His head is bowed and he murmurs to himself for what seems like far too long. He snaps his head up, eyes fixed on the screen, and a half smirk ( Read more... )

Is this a warning, or threat, or both? And what comes, what is it?

All of that. Whatever you make of it. I say what I see. It is what threatens all realms. Not yet can I saw what it is.

And this threat does not wait, it acts? I do not like this, no more do I like what has been done, but I will help as I can. But it is hard to battle and save when there is no real information to be had, sir!

It plays. It toys with us all. Thou doth not understand the gravity of this situation. Battling now will merely end us all. For now, we receive. We wait, we acclimatise. [He shrugs then.] Demanding information I cannot give will get you nowhere, boy.

I know gravity, I know to take such acts seriously. I know life and death, I know ruin and destruction, and I am not demanding a thing. You twist my words and mistake me, sir. And you seem to play at this as if it is a game, when so much is at stake!

...But waiting I can do, and listening. The whispers will be heard, in time. And the screams will tell me much.

I am the one who sees, I do not work to change what I see. Do I wish destruction of all realms? No. Am I actively working to stop it? Eh... debatable. But what I do know is that the end will come no matter what. Something cannot begin without there being a definitive end.

Oh, do so tell me when the screams come. 'Tis something I greatly enjoy.

There is no true end. Not to this, not to anything. It all starts again, it continues on. But it does not mean we should lay down and accept that without some hand in things. [He's already made his mind up to help. It's just what he does.]

They are weak here, I think it's from this pretty trinket that we've all been given. But I would not share them with one who took pleasure in them.

Oh, but there is. For something to begin anew, it must end. An end is an end, it will never be the same again. [He gives him a small smile.] Thine fiery heart is something Mandalus needs.

Worry not, that trinket will not continue to stifle for long. 'Tis a precaution, allowing for us to prepare for arrival, to adjust to what thine full potential is.

No, it's never the same. But neither is the time that happens before the end. Existence is chaos, change rushes through and never ends! A rebirth is a rebirth, no matter what the form. But... some changes mean more than others, when the loss happens. [He takes a breath, thinking, because already he's starting to come to terms with the idea that he may have to make choices he does not like. And he may have to do things that he does not want to do. But if saving Mandalus means saving his home, and the rest, then he will do what he has to do.] I will do what I can. I cannot profess to be strong, or capable. But if it means saving others, then there is no point in fighting this captivity. My energy is better saved for better uses. [Besides, it's actually pretty nice here, even if he doesn't say it.]

Is it? I thought as much, since some had professed to have strength and power.

[Praenuntius listens but does not go much beyond a simple nod, and he smiles to him when he's done with his words.] Then that is all that is needed. Protect this realm, thou will all return, once this is over. We do not wish to keep thee, thou art noisy and fussy.

[He nods a bit.] It will not come off, mind you.
