[When the camera flickers to life, it catches the back end of a conversation as it's being fiddled with, the view of work boots, the voice recognisable to anyone who knows Dean at all.] ...I'm just saying, and what I say goes, because I'm older.
[Dean's motions stop suddenly and sharply.] No freaking way. No freakin' way! Okay, I'm officially on

[Teddy's looking a bit awed, a grin stretching over his face. He doesn't get to see many classic cars, and the ones he does see certainly don't look so well cared for. This one could have just rolled off the production line. And Dean looks so very good next to the car that teddy can't resist]
That's a really really cool car. It's yours, right?

Sure is. This is my baby. '67 Chevy Impala. Had her since I was eighteen and she was my dad's before that.

[And so Teddy cuts the feed and heads over, fast as he can. The wings help]
[Action]
[He lands in a clear bit of dusty ground, tucking wings away and shrinking back down to 'normal' seventeen year old size, which is still taller than most. He can see the car already, glinting in the sunlight and boy, it's a gorgeous car, and looks even better in reality. The screen just doesn't do it justice. And Dean looks good too, even with his broken arm.]
Whoa.

[Dean chuckles and just gets a few more things cleaned up before heading out to the car, a bottle of beer in his hand. At least Bobby's fridge came fully stocked. Leaving Sam to do whatever it is he does besides brooding and reading, Dean starts contemplating giving baby a complete clean out just as he hears the voice and movement behind him.
He grins and sips his beer.] You're damn right "whoa". She sounds just as good as she looks. [And he tugs the door open, after getting the keys from his pocket, and he starts the engine.]

She looks and sounds a lot better than I did when I first got here. [Then he pauses, looking at Dean like an excited puppy] Are you going out? For a drive? Can I come?

[But he's already getting his broken arm out of the sling and reaching over to pop open the passenger door, finishing his beer and tossing the bottle towards the porch.] Hop in, we'll go for a spin and be back before anyone knows.

[The momentarily hesitation on Dean's part makes Teddy's grin freeze, although he's trying not to show his disappointment. He shouldn't be getting Dean into trouble but... there's something so tempting about it, about Dean and the car and the smell of it, and the sunshine. He needs some time to relax and have some fun and apparently Dean thinks so too.]
You sure it's okay? Your arm...
[But Dean seems sure and Teddy can't help but give a whoop of excitement as he climbs into the car, grinning from ear-to-ear at Dean] Okay, you really are the most awesome person here.

[He nods a bit, putting the car in gear but having to reach over with his left arm to do so, even if he's sure it's going to be irritating to drive this way for any period of time. He's already gone out alone, in her, but he only took her around the junkyard.] Yeah, I'll be fine.
[And they're off out towards the roads.] Damn straight I am. You're, what, seventeen? You got a car back home?

Alright, if you're sure. And I guess you don't have to worry much about traffic.
[Teddy shuffles, leaning back in the seat- he's not even had to adjust it for his long legs; now that is brilliant.] Yeah, seventeen. But no car. I live in New York. No point really. Mom... [There's a pause, one that he forces himself to continue from] didn't think it was worth it.

So, you can't even drive? [He raises a brow at the pause after the word "mom" but he doesn't push, he just gives him a look that tells him there's an opening if he wants it, something he doesn't offer many people.] I guess I could teach you that if you want? Not in my baby, but I can get one of the other cars fixed up for you to crash a few times.

[Teddy knows that Dean's letting him continue down his tangent if he wants, but he shakes his head in a no thank you way. Everyone here has their troubles and some have more than others. He doesn't know much about Dean, but he bets he doesn't need to hear a whiny kid complain about his dead parents. It isn't important, on the grand scale of things. You just get up, and go on.]
Really? I mean, I know not in.... Baby? But, really? When your arm is better? [Now that has brightened the teen up more than you'd know, Dean.]

[He nods faintly in response to the head shake. He understands. Sometimes you just don't want to talk about stuff. He still has plenty he doesn't want to talk about, even with Sam, and it makes sense that a kid as different as Teddy would have a heck of a backstory to fall down on.]
Sure! Teach Teddy to fight and to drive, top two things on my list of things to do when I'm healed up. [He grits his teeth as he reaches his broken arm down to change gear but relaxes a little after.] So, you're from New York, huh?

[He's glad of the understanding. His mother, the one who raised him, not the Proncess, is still a sore spot, it's all still raw in his chest and talking about it just forces him to re-live it all over again and he sees it all too often in his nightmares anyway.]
Really? I don't want to take up all your time but... That sounds amazing. I feel like I've done... Well, nothing since I got here. I mean, apart from last week... I was just... Doing nothing useful, really.

[Dean gives him a terrible grin but doesn't say anything else on that. If Teddy wants to pay him back for teaching him a few things, then he can, but really it'll give Dean something to do. Not that he doesn't have plenty to do already but he and Sam won't be hunting for a while, at least.]
Yeah, I know what you mean. That war sucked, I mean it was almost as bad as Hell, but at least it was a chance to do something.
