ACTION: ENDGAME (OLD TOWN)
[ And so, we've reached the evening of September 9th. After the chaos and destruction of the past week, the weekend has presented a contrasting lull in activity following the scheduled execution of Cipher Nine. Where others seem to be preparing for a final no holds barred push, the militia in Old Town seems to be doing little more than standing their ground.
Most of the forces are congested into the heavily barricaded northern section of the district, though there are still quite a few that wander the streets and keep up with their routine patrols. If you pay close attention, you might even notice how they seem to be slowly arranging themselves to block the path south, leaving those of you in the center no choice but to stay put. Aside from this subtle movement, the Serpent also seems to be curious as to what their next move will be, as they haven't yet received any further orders to move forward.
Even if they had, there is little else to reap from Old Town, as the sector is a ruin. The southern section has taken the worst damage from the fires, and while the damage lessens the further north you go, there are still signs of death and destruction to be found: ashes, debris, remnants of past battles that have stained the streets and the scattered bodies that still have yet to be moved. Aside from the few safe houses that were protected against the destruction, most would have no choice but to move forward to the small area that was left untouched.
However, despite the drop in activity, there is still a tension in the air that makes it clear that this is not over just yet. Though it seems to be nothing more than a waiting game, a closer inspection of the situation would reveal that should Weiss decide to go All In, it would only be a simple matter of rounding up those of you who are still scattered about. Even if some of you managed to escape or fight, a devastating blow could be dealt just using the civilians that are still imprisoned.
For the moment, this possibility is merely left to hand overhead and sink in, knowing that at any moment such an order just might be given... right? ]
[OOC: AND BECAUSE I'M A COPY-CAT, HAVE AN OLD TOWN ENDGAME POST. As for how this is going to end, Kerrigan is going to go in for the kill, and upon the failed attempt, Weiss will willingly surrender and step out, so whatever else happens, this will definitely be resolved and the district won't fall. I'll post the thread for this below and also one for general mingling and getting together, so feel free to have your characters meet up, discuss the situation, maybe they want to get together and try to get the jump on the Serpent, whatever you guys want to do! Though it was Weiss' goal to smoke people out and drive them to the central cluster of buildings in front of the Library, by no means does your character HAVE to be trapped here! Just keep in mind not much is left outside of it.
