[The audio comes into life and the usually smooth Italian voice is, instead, rough and breathless. Ezio's breathing is shallow and ragged, and it takes some time for him to finally be able to talk, but it doesn't make much sense.]

Sofia... I-- merda... Helen, I... [A pause comes as Ezio just tries to breathe.] ...the villa-- [There is a rough ( Read more... )

action;

[ Guess who is walking around when he shouldn't be? That's right. Desmond Miles. He hates being stuck in a room. He was for weeks under the Templars. There's no way in hell that he's going to stay cooped up in a room and not get out and move around. Especially a room that originally belonged to Mario Auditore. Not that Desmond isn't grateful, it's just, the memories of Ezio and it all gets very eerie at times for him. He slowly makes his way down the stairs, holding his side lightly and making his way to the study. Whatever he was going to say to his ancestor catches in his throat as he sees the older assassin collapsed on the ground. ]

Shit! [ He hurries as fast as he can over, kneeling down to him and putting his hand on Ezio's arm. ] Hey, Ezio.

[Ezio doesn't stir at the touch but when his name is called he does at least shift a bit, though it takes him a minute to open his eyes. He groans hoarsely, his skin broken into a cold sweat, and he pushes himself up slowly, still rather shaky. He hasn't gone so long without eating or sleeping, even during his travels, and he knows he's starting to get too old for a lot of the things he does, but he doesn't want to admit it honestly.

He sighs a bit, dragging his hand over his face, before eyeing his grandson.] You should be resting.

[ Desmond gives him a pointed look instead. Really? ]

You're laying on the ground passed out and you're telling me I should be resting? [ Grandpa, really, come on. Desmond shakes his head and sighs. ] Come on. Get up. We'll get you to your room and then we'll both rest. Sound like a good idea?

Merda, I passed out...? [He sighs angrily at himself. He should have taken better care of himself but trying to establish an Order in Aliunde, the mess that went on there, then coming to Mandalus and doing it all over again, as well as Abstergo showing up and Desmond getting hurt, everything he needed to think about like food and rest got left to the wayside, because it didn't seem as important as rebuilding everything.]

Si, I suppose. [He gives Desmond a look, however, that he'll kick the crap out of him injured or not if he makes a big deal of this, like he's got to retire or something stupid like that. Still, he's getting to his feet to head up to bed.]

And it made a a great post on the Mandalus Network too. [ He reaches for the wall and pushes himself up, then offers his ancestor his free hand. There's no comment about Ezio retiring or anything like that. He knows better than to do that. He does think his ancestor needs to rest and not push himself so far, but, he'll say it at a time that isn't this precise moment. ]

Need me to call a doctor?

Si, I had meant to contact someone... I do not recall just who... [He doesn't take the offered hand to pull himself up, though he does grab it in the guise of doing so. Instead he gets himself to his feet without putting his weight on Desmond, not wanting to harm Desmond's wound.]

I think I made the mistake of doing that myself. It's fine. [He pats him on the shoulder, heading for the bedroom.]

Want me to replay it for you? [ That could be embarrassing, but, hey. It might help in the end. You never know. Desmond rolls his eyes. He knows where he gets the stubbornness from. ]

Does this mean we're going to get a cranky call from your girlfriend? [ Do you know how weird it is to say "your girlfriend" to Ezio? Pretty damn weird. ]

No. [He doesn't need the last bullet wound to his pride, thank you very much, but he laughs at that comment, making his way into his bedroom and slumping to sit on the edge of the bed.]

She is not a "girlfriend". [He doesn't like that word. It's too juvenile for him. He'd rather not put labels on it, either, given the emotional situations both he and Helen have personally.] She will insist she visits. You should make yourself scarce, or she will be curious about the state of your injury.

I figured you'd say that. Just thought I'd offer. [ He hangs in the doorway, leaning against the frame of it. ]

I could call her your lover instead. [ Desmond just knows that the term wouldn't work either. He's never seen Ezio label a relationship - not even with Christine. ] Great, just what I'd need. More mothering.

[Ezio starts to piece away parts of his clothing, mostly the outer parts, but he chuckles tiredly at the comment.] You would do well with a mother figure in your life, Desmond. You have enough male influences.

[Still, he doesn't particularly want his descendants seeing him with Helen, especially not when she'll be worrying at him and he'll be trying to reassure her he's not that unwell.] Go on, I'm fine. I just need to rest and eat more.

I don't need someone mothering me when you do that enough. [ He's just going to start calling the man a mother hen. ]

You sure?

Bastardo. [He resents that, okay? B(]

Si, go on. I'm alright.

Yeah, yeah. [ Desmond just waves off the comment. He hovers for a moment before turning to head out. ]
