001 ✰ Arrival

Jul 10, 2012 05:40

[The face of a man who has seen a brutal battle comes into view, his skin bruised, burnt, bloodied, and what little of his armour can be seen shows how damaged it all is. Dog tags hang around his neck, also tainted with his blood, and he looks somewhat dazed, although clearly in a lot of pain. His breathing is very shallow, short rasps and he looks ( Read more... )

[Shepard would be more interested in the primitive technology he's using if he wasn't in sheer agony, so he doesn't try to get it to the video function again.]

I'm not sure if medi-gel will quite cut it right-ahh... right now, but I'm at the... [Train station?] ...station. Avasta Station.

[Shepard lets out a breathless, pained laugh though it's somewhat bitter as well.]

Hope for the best and try not to bleed on anything valuable? It's alright, I got it, I'll be fine until you get here. [And he at least has a small gun on him.]

[By the time he's got company, Shepard has found himself a corner to sit in, bleeding on the floor, and part of his armour has already fallen off, not that he really cares about that right now. He gives himself a few minutes to think about everything that's happened, let out a breath of relief that he did it, and worry over what to do now. Mandalus isn't anywhere he's even heard of before and he's sure the crew is probably looking for him but he doesn't even have the effort to consider how he got from Earth to this city.

He shifts a bit when he's suddenly not alone and making a mess of the floor, and he doesn't even flinch at the injection, even if he's sure it probably should sting a bit.]

Reaper beam, right at me, for the surface damage. The cybernetics are shutting down because I-- [Does he even want to say it out loud? Is that the last thing he should do right now?] ...nghh-- I destroyed all synthetic life in the galaxy.

[Shepard rests his head against the wall for just a second, trying to take deeper breaths, but it's kind of hard when a large portion of his insides are shutting themselves down without the cybernetics to keep the organs working. Still, he can't sit here and do nothing so he reaches the one good working arm he has to start tugging off bits of broken armour, leaving his Arc Pistol on the floor beside him.

He has to tug at some of it a bit harder because it's stuck to his skin, and some of his flesh does get ripped at, but he bears it through clenched teeth.] Who are you? You're not Alliance or Cerberus. [He can tell that much by the fact he's not having his name repeated at him and he hasn't been shot on sight.]

[He isn't quite certain whether or not to take that surprise at face value but he's a little bit past caring about the intentions of a stranger trying to help him. He'd rather not die again, in the end.]

Kaal. What Republic Army is this? I've never heard of Taris. [He lets out a breath, at least keeping on his boots, even if he's getting off most of the broken armour just for the fact it's more comfortable without it on.] Systems Alliance. I'm from the Alliance Navy.

[It's not massively surprising that he isn't recognised, he'd rather not have to deal with that right now, but he is definitely grateful for the help and the conversation keeps his mind working so he doesn't decide to just pass out. At least his brain wasn't messed about with by Cerberus and all of that is still normal, squishy, human brain matter.]

Never... never heard of it, sorry. [He's beginning to think he's from an entirely different galaxy, somewhere far, far away. :|

He does manage to get the last few bits of armour off with this man's help and he makes an absent double check that he still has his dog tags around his neck, not willing to lose them yet again.]

I was born on Earth, it's a human world. The Systems Alliance represents humankind in the galaxy, our planet and all our colonies. [He gives him a quick and grateful pat to the shoulder.] Thanks for the help, Private. I should have less trouble getting to someone who can fix my tech.

Maybe so. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

[He shakes his head a little bit, looking up at the rest of the station he's inside.] Trains are good enough. I can get to the hospital on one, but thanks.
