Mama Update
i guess i haven't posted about mama in a while.
She started having more pain in her bones a while back. not just the arthritis, but in her bones. apparently, her parathyroid (different from the thyroid) is producing some hormone that's drawing calcium from her bones and putting it in her bloodstream. hence the pain and bone problems. the doctors said there might be a possible tumor on her parathyroid, and if removed would make most of the pain and discomfort disappear....or it could be something that would take many more tests.
well, mama got the results from her parathyroid scan back, and no tumor. it's the first time i've ever been sad that there was NO tumor. they're going to send her to an endocrinologist, and they'll probably do a bunch of bloodtests. so, it's going to be a while before they figure out what's going on.
