This weekend was gnar. Saturday I woke up to see that the streets were full of fresh snow. I took my track bike out and rode anyway because the bus didn't start until 8am and I needed to be at Stages at 6. So I rode through the fucking snow with a tight butthole. But I survived! It was actually really fun. Skidding on snow is a blast. I arrived at stages a little after 6 because I was running late, but Cole was no where to be found. Luckily Tony showed up at 6:30 and let me in. Cole eventually arrived at 7. We worked until 4:30pm!!! I learned a new station: glue! It was actually fun! I could definitely do that for ten hours a day, five days a week. I figured learning more stations will give me more job security. Plus, the glue tower is always full of work so I would never get bored or run out of things to do. Anyway. Afterwards, Cole and I went to this place down the street on Arapahoe called Pika. It was actually next door to a bike shop coincidentally. Apparently they were in the middle of happy hour: $2 beers!!! Holy hell. The tacos were FIRE. They have happy hour on saturdays and mondays, so I guess I know where I'm going for break on Monday. Afterwards I convinced Cole to drive me to Tilt in Louisville so I could meet up with Ashely who was in town for Pearl Izumi thing. Cole wasn't big on pinball so we ended up playing Big Game Hunter where I got my ass kicked even after several rematches. Cole left but I stuck around to hang out some more and played pinball. My bill for three beers was $5. WTF. Then I rode home in eight degree weather.

Sunday I slept in for once and did laundry finally. Then I unpacked and organized my room to the best of my ability (I still need furniture). Afterwards I rode to Lyons by way of US287 and SR66. I passed through Longmont and got a better view of Longmont's downtown. It's actually a pretty decent town! Left Longmont in the direction of Lyons on 66 and finally found the OMW ride/race heading out of Lyons. Couldn't pick out Ashley so I uturned on the last man and started passing people. Let me tell you: a road bike on snow-covered dirt roads was terrifying and exciting at the same time. I didn't biff it once, but I definitely couldn't fly through the course either. The descents were especially hairy. Finally I found Ashley and we rode the rest of the way back to Lyons. There I drank some cream soda and ate a shit load of vegan red lentil soup which was FIRE. Speaking of fires, the event organizers had three firepits going which was a life saver. Eventually the sun came out and I was able to ride all the fucking way home to Lafayette. It was a beautiful day when the sun finally came out.
