Shawn paid me the best compliment ever the other day. It stuck with me. He said that when he meets someone who knows me, it's not just "Oh yeah, I know her" and it's more like "Oh my god, I love her!"
That sounded really valley-girlish when I read it back. But it was so touching. Loved it.
I also have fallen in love with many people recently who impress me more every day. I would like to list a few, only because I love all of you but these people rocked my world hard recently:
So it's awesome to have a friend that's super-talented so I don't have to lie to them and tell them they're good without believing it. Justin is one of those people. He fucking ROCKS his bands This Story and Obsequies for Juliet. Shameless plug: they're both on myspace and A-mazing bands. Check them out. I just love him. Such a sweetheart.
Jamie Manuel is amazing and driven and twice as busy as me, which is virtually impossible. It's gonna be great to see what he does with the world. Seriously, with a mind and motivation like that, it's going to be hard for him to NOT make a difference.
Speaking of grand people making a difference, I'd like to shout out to my wife Betsy Mills, who proposed to me even though I dumped her for a boy on Facebook. She's so sweet :). And I love my other Women's Studies buddy Amanda Littke as well. They're both such GENUINE people who care about others and the world in general and making a difference. How I do admire them for it.
