I can't believe it's arleady Sunday night. This weekend flew by way too fast. I know that is a highly cliched thing to say, but I mean it! I feel like this weekend was only comprised of one day.
Friday evening was spent at Ironbridge and, while Kenny had a little batting practice, Gregory came up and we took a mini geocaching trip through the woods. After getting eaten by mosquitos, I no longer cared about finding treasure and we retired to the bleachers where he described to me one of his latest Mage adventures (it involved plunging a sword up a foe's rectum and splitting him from bottom (literally) to top. All I could say was "So..the hilt of your sword is now covered in poo".
Saturday was spent at Glen Allen. Chris Tuck and Mike Graham came out to play and Gregory sat by my side the whole day without whining once. It's mind blowing how normal he is. Now that he is sixteen, he's not my little baby brother anymore -- he's just become my brother. It's actually nice to have that kind of pressure lifted and we can just hang out. We ate at Buffalo Wild Wings with Michelle and Chris Tuck and Gregory and I won three straight games of trivia.
Today I started my day at 6am when the dogs started crying to go outside. Don't fret for me, I fell back to sleep on the couch! I woke back up to an everything bagel with cream cheese and a wawa coffee. Fantastic way to be. When we finally got moving, we headed to One Eyed Jacques where I bought three new sets of dice. They are beautiful. So beautiful! I passed on a store bought pouch and had big plans to make my own. We meandered into a few more shops (Kenny had never actually been in World of Mirth) and headed toward home.
After a few 7-11 gut busters and Demolitian Man streaming on Netflix, I started picking fabrics, ironing, cutting, pinning. We picked up the kids and when we hit home again I pulled out my sewing machine -- only to discover that the reverse lever has appearently popped off and is lost into oblivion. After much searching, I completed my project using a pair of pliars in leiu of the lever. Not so sweet.
And now it's over -- nothing left to do but find something to eat, get Sydney out of the tub and into PJs, and then sleep.
Last weekend was much more eventful. Jam packed, even. Last weekend we had the kids and we hit three malls, went cosmic bowling (best thing ever with a 6 year old and 9 year old -- not a frown all night!), spent hours in Inflation Nation, and saw a Flying Squirrels game. In fact, it was *the* Flying Squirrels game. First of all, they won (which I had not yet seen..), but second of all it was the night the fan threw a foul ball back onto the field, tapped the pitcher of the visiting team on the leg, and got banned for life.
I don't want to go to work tomorrow. Is that too obvious of a statement? Mondays suck -- only redeemed by my weekly girl date. It's a pretty good redemption but it takes too long to get to!
