Alright. February 24th, 2007. My life is now complete. Who wants to hear about my trip to New York?
First of all I'd like to say that I had a wonderful trip with Becca to see The Apple Tree (for the second time) on February 22nd, 2007 as well. She was excited (for it was her first time in the city) and it was a really good time. But here's the story of TODAY (and yes, the Kristin Chenoweth part will happen in the middle).
I woke up around 7:30 and, as always, my father was already rushing me. We had PLENTY of time and... he's dumb for rushing me, but... that's what he ALWAYS does. I got ready and we picked up Shane around 8:35-ish and headed for the train station. My father dropped Shane and I off and Shane bought our train tickets and basically (though we hung around a bit), we headed for the tracks. But before I forget to mention it... you'll never guess who we saw at the train station. JUDITH GALLAGHER (our principal). Ick. We avoided her and laughed about the fact that we saw her in general. The train left at 9:32 and we were on it.
Shane was excited to be on the train as it was obvious he would be. He had never been on a train before and LOVED every minute of it. We chatted and listened to some music and stuff, but... nothing really eventful. We saw a sign that we thought was funny that said "SLEEP WITH SOMEONE NEW" and... yeah. We laughed. Immaturity at its best, of course. :)
We got into Grand Central at about, eh, a few minutes after 11. Maybe around 11:10-11:15-ish. We had slight train issues on the way there (technical problems that is... we had them on the way back as well, too. Shane is bad luck for trains, I guess?). Anyways, we headed down to the bathrooms, but the line was TOO LONG for the ladies room and I didn't really have to go (just thought I would while we were ther)... so... we didn't do that. I showed Shane that cool echo thingie in the station where you stand in one corner and can be heard in the other. He thought it was neat. It freaked Becca out when I did it to her. lol.
We headed for the street and began walking. I showed Shane some things that I enjoyed and... I felt very much like a tourguide (as I did with Becca for neither of them had ever been to NYC). The moment we walked out onto the street Shane just said, "WOW." That basically sums it up, mhmmm.
Shane's afraid of heights but I made him ride those WICKED glass elevators at the Marriot Marquis because I love them (Becca rode them, too). So, that was fun. We walked around a bit and I showed him Hershey and other things that I thought he'd be interested in or that were important to me for whatever reason. There was some big fire on, like... maybe it was 48th or something? I don't remember. But there were SO many fire trucks and a ladder up to the roof and several fire hydrants with water spewing and... it made Shane, the fireman, so very excited. He was even wearing his fireman coat and was making a joke about how maybe if they saw the symbol on his coat they'd be like, "HEY! COME HELP US!" So. Basically... that made Shane's DAY. On the train he talked about how we wanted SO BADLY to see the New York Fire Department so... he totally got to see them IN ACTION which is cool.
We headed back and grabbed a bite at Juniors (to go). Shane got a burger and I got a grilled cheese and we started walking to Studio 54 for I was forcing Shane to wait for Kristin because, man, I wanted to see her. So, we sat outside the stagedoor (eating a bit more) and talking and... freezing our ASSES off, basically. It's cold when you're not moving, dude! lol. So, we got to Studio 54 a bit before 12:30 and Kristin came around 1:00-ish. There was another man there waiting to see Kristin as well. I allowed her to see the other man first. Maddie was with her and she was absolutely adorable. I had one of my Apple Tree playbills with me and I had her sign it. I said something to her along the lines of "I just wanted to thank you. You've helped me through SO many difficult times." Her and Karmine (her body guard) both "awwwwwww"ed at this and I love Karmine for that a lot. lol. She was like, "That's so sweet! Thank you!" Her and I took a picture together (as taken by Shane). Shane later told me that he had "camera trouble" on purpose so I could stand with her for even a second more (he's cute and makes me laugh). I really didn't want to take up her time. I felt bad enough about SDing before the show as it was (especially since I wasn't going to the show, but hell... I'd been to it twice before... I deserve SOMETHING). She told me, "God bless" and headed into the theater. Shane would probably like me to add the fact that he waved at her and shook Karmine's hand and held the door for her. That's HIS story. And he took the picture, of course.
Anyways. Such a picture...
Maddie was ADORABLE, by the way. She had on a coat and little pink booties (one of which fell off and the other man that was there retreived, giving it to Kristin). So. My life is complete, basically.
Afterwards... Shane and I headed to the Golden and picked up our tickets. We stayed in the mini-lobby-like-thing because it was cold. And we held each other for warmth (and because he likes me ;) ). Anyways, they sent us outside eventually to wait to go in and we did.
The show was amazing. I seriously give those people SO much credit for all that crazy puppeteering along with performing like anyone else. Seriously. AMAZING. They are all hugely talented. Shane loved the show (and so did I) and it was just... FABULOUS and completely HILARIOUS.
Shane and I left the theater and decided at that moment that we would take a 5:07 train back home, so, we had a bit of time to kill. I took him to the giant Toys-R-Us because it ROCKS. We were gunna ride the ferris wheel in there, but... really didn't have the time (sadly) for the line was so MASSIVE. I will ride it someday, though. Seriously.
We strolled back to Grand Central, walking through Bryant Park for a time just because I love it so much. We got some drinks at Starbucks (I got a vanilla latte, he got a caramel macchiato, and I also got a Jones Cream Soda 'cause... it was necessary). We both used our respective bathrooms and headed for the train. We listened to music the whole way back and talked and chilled and were cute and... things.
My parents came to pick us up at the station and we brought Shane on home. That's basically my story for the day. It wins. BEST DAY EVER. Seriously.
