Travels to a Rebel State

The Easter bunny skipped over me this year. I will gladly forward my current my address to anyone intent on sending me leftover Easter candy, mainly Cadbury Eggs. Those things are like crack.

I went to Tennessee to visit my Grandparents over break. It was a 28 hour round trip. I slept the whole time in order to avoid contact with The Family. As a result, my neck and back might be permanently screwed up.

In Tennesse I saw paintings by Picasso, Monet, El Greco, Goya, Czechne, Degas, Renior...and many others. My older brother and I amused ourselves at the museum by standing in front of some of the more abstract paintings and debating whether we saw a sailboat or a "schooner". I don't think the tour guide liked us.

My grandmother also got us tickets for a live taping of "Nashville Star"...which is exactly like American Idol...only "country-fied". I voted for the guy who played the washboard...Yee-haw! Lynard Skynard played as the guest musicians. My brother and I both shouted out "Play FreeBird!", but skynard decided to ignore us...haha. My brother and I also plotted the best way to get on TV at a country show...Unfortunatly, my Mom caught us before we could buy the "Billy Bob" teeth and our plan was thwarted. If you watched Nashville Star on the USA network, we were the ones behind the people with the large orange signs that said "LANCE".

I have decided I'm glad I'm not from the south. It just seems like too much work to be "country". Them's cowboys sures are enthusasmed though. "The South shall RIIIIISE again!" <---Man next to me at show
