It is 7:00 on a Saturday night and I've just been kicked out from a bar.
My little brother and his roommate Tim came to Eau Claire to go to a show at the Stone's Throw where some of their friends were playing. Phil goes in first, gives his money and id to the guy and passes through...Then Tim goes, passes through just fine....I hand my id and money to the guy and he just stares at my id for a good 30 seconds. So I'm thinking "What's wrong? it can't be fake..." And the guy goes, "I can't let you in here. You're 21." I'm like, "Wha...?" "It's an Eau Claire City Ordinance. You have to leave. The only people who are over 21 here are employees. The police will be coming to check."
So I couldn't go with my 19 year old brother to a show at a bar because I'm legally of age. Now how does that make sense? They weren't serving alcohol, so it's not like I could have bought minors drinks....If a parent had wanted to come in I'm absolutly sure they would have let them in...
So Phil and Tim had to leave to take me home. What a strange, strange night.
