If I would have known how great my view would be on the 4th, I would have invited everybody over! I didn't have to leave my house for a show. No, I couldn't see the big'ole fireworks over the river or at the army place here in vancouver.. but people in WA can buy those really big fireworks that are illegal in Oregon - well, I live on a hill and I had a full 180degrees of a light show for the past two hours - like non stop. The fireworks people light off at thier homes here are amazing! they go above the tree tops and I could even see them being shot in the air over the mountains miles away. IT was just beautiful. I can't even get over it. Growing up in the country on a farm, we were never allowed to have fireworks - fire safety reasons... so ...its exciting to see such amazing and large fireworks just in the neighborhoods surrounding me. I wish I had a video camera so I could show people. My words of advice: whenever you buy a home, make sure its on a hill. I have the best sunrises, sunsets, and now - fireworks display.
