NFL + exclusive = crap

Someone wrote this about the NFL-EA deal being extended to 2012:
You want to blame someone, blame the NFL. They were the ones who wanted an exclusive deal. They shopped the idea to both Take Two and EA. In fact word was Take Two got first pass at the deal and balked at the asking price. EA, with Madden as their bread and butter, doled our the cash rather then lose their #2 Franchise after The Sims. So go ahead and call the WHAAAAAbulance but don't blame EA for taking steps to protect their bottom line. If they didn't sign on someone else would have, maybe even someone with no sports game experiance, and then we would be stuck with even shittier football games rather then the pretty good Madden 08.
Personally, I don't care who is to blame. A deal like this is bullshit and should be illegal for something as high-profile as a National pastime.
